[Some people don't appreciate being pinned down by quarantine. Edward's got a healthy enough appreciation for his own health and wellbeing, but it's been over a week now and this is getting beyond a joke now, and what you get on screen is a very frustrated looking ruffian who's never really enjoyed being told where he needs to stay.]

So if this whole city's been condemned to damnation by this outbreak and no-one's any closer to finding a cure, what's goin' to happen to rest of us who ain't sick but have to stay put? Are we all s'posed to stay here twiddlin' our thumbs until our rations drop off or we all wind up infected and die anyway?

[He sounds particularly unimpressed by that option.]

This is bollocks. I thought this technology stuff people keep harpin' on about was meant to be the savin' grace of this modern era. It's a joke. This is no different from what the British have been trying to do to Nassau.

[He takes a quick slug of something from a bottle and wipes his mouth.]

There's an ocean. There are boats. Those who ain't sick or immune get the hell out of here and wait it out in the West Indies.

Not a completely terrible plan, though of course it does rely on people having half a clue about sailing.

That's not going to be a problem, I've been on ships since I was nineteen and when this so-called government nabbed me I was in charge of my own brig, then they stuck me on a fishing boat chasing marlin around the Caribbean. Sailin's the easy part.

[That's useful, actually. She may have a need in the future for a means of travel less monitored than the usual avenues. Definitely keeping him in mind, assuming they survive this.]

Just waiting around won't do any good, no. But abandoning the people who're already sick? That isn't any better.

What about all the people who're only just starting to show symptoms? You wanna just leave behind to get worse? And fend for themselves?

Besides - we don't know everything about how this disease works.

It's not my problem. If they're sick, they're sick. I'm no doctor, I don't have a cure. I sure as shit ain't going to be able to do anything if I stick around here to get sick too.

There's plenty of individuals here who are going to be convinced you've made the right one. The most anyone can do is respect the gravity of the one you've made. Plenty of those telling you to stay would escape, if they had the resources and opportunity.

I'm a man who's got no plan to die here like a dog with its tail between its legs because I didn't have the stones to go against what some poxy lawmakers decide was the right thing to do.

You and all the others are here because you're not exhibiting symptoms and haven't past the initial incubation period. That doesn't mean you can't spread it. The wind is blowing out to sea, and there's a chance you'll take it with you if you try and sail.

Boats tend to not sail well when they're on fire.

I'm no sailor, so correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe the point of a boat is to stay out of the water.
