Oh my God!

I love Netflix!

I don't care what else gets invented, time travel, interstellar space stations that can hop galaxies at FTL speeds, unlimited food supplies- all of it pales in comparison to this!

I wasn't gonna go to school anyway [wow maybe don't announce that on an open network genius] but now I can't go, because there's so much I gotta catch up on! Is anyone else watching that one show about the people who got stranded inside a Walmart for days, and then the food started to rot and one of the guys became a cannibal? I love that show!

I'm so happy.

[When the video feed kicks in, it's Ryan sitting on his bed just staring at something across the room. He's talking into the communicator to the network at large, but his focus isn't shifting at all.]

Gotta admit…I'm still not sure I'm supposed to be here. [It's one of the rare moments he's candid, but he's immediately changing the subject.]

But I guess I really don't get a choice, do I? It's kind of weird. I sort of thought…okay, this is really stupid but just hear me out? I sort of thought maybe I could just ignore some of my powers. You know, like selective use?

[And soon Ryan's attention shifts as he turns his head and the bed shifts. In an echo of his voice, someone else speaks up.

"Yeah. Yeah, not so much…"

Ryan's grabbing the communicator and adjusting the angle then to reveal himself on the bed seated next to an identical clone of himself, right down to the pinstriped vest and matching trilby precariously balanced on his head. They've even got matching wireless headset microphones.]

Apparently not so much. [He gestures to the clone who looks marginally offended.] I got rid of the other two, but what happens when your powers turn on you? There's gotta be a way to fix it, right? Any suggestions would be great. [The clone's just grabbing the communicator from Ryan, lifting an eyebrow. It's pretty clear that this one's started to take on its own independent thoughts and actions. Ryan's just snatching it back, much to the clone's protest.]

Preferably sooner than later. Thanks in advance, I guess.

[ The video shows Erik seated in front of a desk covered in books, largely focused on the history of the past fifty years, along with the advancements in science and technology that have occurred in that time. There are several notebooks strewn about, and a map pinned to the wall with several marks made on it-- anyone who chose to scrutinize it closely enough may notice that they are the locations that are unique to this world. The room is well-lit, sunlight shining through the open window. ]

I hate to put a damper on this weekend's festivities. [ No he doesn't. ] But since my arrival, I have found myself with more questions than answers. That delightfully informative video that our hosts provided for us was of little help, I am afraid. You see, this is not the first time I have been branded against my will, and I have few reasons to believe that the intentions of this group are any more pure than the last.

So now I turn to you, my fellow imPorts, and I ask this: If you have chosen to register, why? I wish to believe that the majority of you are wise enough that you have not been drawn in by simple propaganda, so I am sure that you all have your reasons.

[The video comes on, revealing a flaming teenage girl with foil tightly wrapped around her hands. It's wrapped around her feet, too, although they're not in view.

She looks a bit confused, though admittedly, that's because she's not entirely sure how to approach this.]

Um, hi. [Whoever's watching this should probably know her name, right?] I'm Flame Princess.

Does anybody here know how to fireproof junk without using foil? That's what I use when I'm not home, but it's kind of weird to use all the time. Normally wherever I live is on fire, but if I tried that here, it'd probably kill people. [Which would qualify as 'evil', she's pretty sure.]

... Oh! And I'd like it if the fireproofing stuff didn't put me out, either. Since, you know, I'm kind of made of fire. [And going out=bad.]

Two questions.

1.) Who are the least responsible adult (18+) imPorts here?

2.) Is anyone interested in doing summer tutoring in higher level mathematics, chemistry, biology, or modern and ancient history? Geography is also useful. I won't be able to pay well at first, but we can work out different forms of compensation.
