So, first off - hi to all the new people 'round here! I'm Jaime, and I've been here for... gosh, it's gotta be, what, three years now? Longer than most people around here, with a few exceptions. Anyway, if you got any questions about how things work around here, feel free to ask me, and I'll answer if I can. Or if anyone's looking for a job at a garage, we got a position opening up - maybe even two. [ If Erik's successful, that is. With that in mind, Jaime leans back in his seat (he's at his computer desk in his room, a rumpled bed behind him with a stack of textbooks on his bedside table), and gets going on what he really wanted to talk about. ]

What I really wanted to ask you guys, though, is this: did you bother going to school here? You know, college and all that? Getting your GED's good for finding a half-decent job around here, but about a year ago, I didn't really see the point in going to college if we might not be around long enough to even get halfway through a degree. Now, though... I'm starting to reconsider.

[ He brushes a lock of hair out of his face (it's really too long, again), and continues. ]

So. If you decided to go to school, why'd you do it? If you actually made the decision to not go to school, d'you think that was the right call? Just consider this, like, an informal poll. I'm interested in hearing what you guys have got to say.

Thank you

[The first fruits of Anakin's labors are beginning to show. He is standing beside a seemingly ordinary car - rather old and dilapidated - but as he leans in and pushes a button on the dashboard, there is a tell-tale hum and the wheels lift off of the pavement. It's a far cry from building a vessel that flies yet it is hovering and that's pretty remarkable considering the materials he had to work with.]

This won't hold up for long. [But he grins nonetheless.] It's a start.

[Anakin tilts his head back to look at the sky.]

I bet taxis could get where they're going faster if they could hover above the other cars on the road. Emergency vehicles too. There is so much air space that isn't put to use! [He doesn't really care about that; it's more an observation.] Traffic in these cities just doesn't make sense. It could be solved so easily.

Hello? Is this meant to be spoken into? There is no circular apparatus by which to dial a number—

Ah. The light says "recording." Good. I have a question: which of these cities is most in need of help? Eventually I'll see to all, but those most in need should be helped first. I've heard gossip on the street while strolling of riots, blackouts and a shortage of food. Is that everywhere, or simply in the place called De Chima?

( Diana repeats this messages in a dozen different languages, just in case. There's a long pause afterward, and then she says quietly: )

Peace seems to elude this world. I must wonder if he survived.

[ Contrasting with her normal bubbly demeanor, Haen is a grumpy little geneticist today. She had been caught in the same affliction, but had broken out of it part way through. In light of that, she has... entirely different priorities. ]

I don't care how catchy it sounds, this is not a 'plague'.

Medically this isn't a plague, or an epidemic-- there's absolutely nothing biological about the makeup of whatever this is to qualify it as pandemic at all. Once, just once I'd like to go a month without - without the streets flooding with ghosts, or being in ridiculous brawls in bars with bears, or being kidnapped, or - or -

[Rincewind breaks off with a pained, miserable expression, glancing back over his shoulder. As he does so, the video shifts enough to show a dumpster with its lid open, a bag of trash abandoned outside it. The angle makes it impossible to see inside.]

...There's a body in there. Two, er, halves of one. Someone's, um...

[Rincewind swallows thickly, fighting another wave of nausea.]

I don't think she's an imPort. ...Was. Gods.

Look - someone come deal with this, will you? That's what you heroes are meant to do, right? So one of you needs to bloody well get out here. I'm not - I can't - this isn't my responsibility.

[Shantae is lounging back in a chair, surrounded by what seems to be... paperwork? Her very long hair is somehow done up in a braid, which even still comes down to the small of her back. She's got a pen in her hand.]

So... hypothetically, if someone wanted to start a business here, how would they do it? 'Cuz back home in Scuttle Town, it's easy. You just need to buy space for it, or a stall, or whatever, and you need to have something to sell, and boom! You've got a business.

But here you have to fill out... forms. And I don't get this stuff at all.

I want to meet the person who invented paperwork and stuff his head in a fish pond. [A pause.] And then let him out, but that dunk would be reaaaaally satisfying...

[ The video feed clearly comes on by accident, as the owner is in mid-sentence as it appears on the network. HK-47’s staring down at Revan as best he could, and the annoyance was easy to hear in his voice just then. ]

--forgotten how to use a hydrospanner in three hundred years?

[ ...doesn’t help that there’s a bit of a glitch to his voice. ]

And it looks you have nearly the same amount of wear and tear in here… Wait… Do a diagnostic.

[ In spite of HK’s criticism, Revan appears quite comfortable with the pair of instruments in his hand, tools that look quite alien to the casual observer. His hair is tied up in an uncharacteristic ponytail to keep his hair out of his face as he frowns at something just below the camera angle. ]

I’m detecting a power surge in your sensory net.

[ HK’s voice is terse when he responds, despite the occasional jump in his voice. ]

Observation: Perhaps it’s simply reacting to the fact that you do not know what you’re doing.

[ He’s not being very forgiving here, and it was hard to blame him. Revan’s issues with memory were certainly a thing, and they seemed to be worse than usual… at least in the droid’s opinion, which was all that really mattered. ]

Oh come on. Who knows how you tick better than I do? It’s not my fault someone’s put your insides through a blender then tried to slap them together again. But I’m serious HK, it looks like you’re photoreceptors are being routed through… some kind of… beacon.

[ He looks up from his work, detaching the sensor probe currently embedded in HK’s chest and looking up directly into the feed --His frown shifting from one of curiosity to alarm. ]

...Why is your communicator in your head?

Mockery: Why master, I have no idea! Perhaps to a meatbag that has no idea what they’re doing, a ‘head’ is the most logical place to insert a communicative device.

[ Revan slaps a hand across his face, drawing a streak of grease across his nose. ]

By the Force, it’s an epidemic…

[So it’s become one of THOSE posts. ]

You’re broadcasting to the net, HK.

[ Revan raises his ‘hydrospanner’ and taps on the screen, HK’s eyes, for good measure. It was a shame the video was from HK’s point of view; the look on his face was rather priceless at the moment. The faint buzz of a sigh escaped from the droid. ]

Query: Perhaps it would be more prudent to use this time to ask for assistance from others? After all, I’m sure you can only remember so much, Master.

[ It was amazing how he could be supportive and insulting all in one sentence. ]

Yes, now that we look like total fools, let’s beg the community to save us.

[ Revan smiles up at the screen, past HK and to the people watching. ]

Hello everyone, my friend here has… had some work done over the years. Layers upon layers of patchwork repairs, reroutes and improvisation. Some of it I don’t even know what for. Like this? [ He reaches in and tugs out some kind of bundle of circuitry that looks oddly like a heart made of wires and chips. ] Looks like some kind of autonomous repair unit? But it’s currently defunct. And it looks like at least a dozen of his core functions have been routed through it.

Despite being the one who built him, I’m sort of at a loss. We’re looking for anybody with an understanding of robotics, or perhaps abilities related to technology that can assist us.

[ooc; Responses can come from either HK or Revan, or both! ]

She's set the camera a fair enough distance away that no one's getting a close up of her pores. The screen shows a woman in casual clothing with a slight gothic flair, but nothing too outlandish.

"Right. OK. Brand new... resident, for lack of a better word, here. My name's Zatanna. Looking for a few recommendations from people who've been around longer, and maybe some potential business arrangements.

First off, a good vegetarian restaurant, or at least somewhere with a decent vegetarian menu.

Rabbit breeders- not a pet store. Somewhere I can maybe start looking into buying a few well-bred does and bucks for my own hutch, once I find my own place. Unless the roommate I haven't had a chance to meet yet doesn't mind the little critters. I'll take in rescues, too, if anyone knows of an organization like that. Heck, if there is one, I'll volunteer, too. I've got a lot of experience with all breeds of rabbit.

Venues- for the love of good, venues that might want to host a magic show- and any manor of theatre techs, carpenters and anyone else who'd be interested in the behind-the-scenes business.

I can fold in some burlesque aspects to bring in the 18+ audience, it wouldn't be the first time.

Since there's no way to prove I'm actually a world-renowned, second-generation performer back home, I am willing to audition. But if you pull casting-couch BS, I will turn you into a toad.

[ The video starts in Baelish's ambassadorial office which is currently a mess of books, glorious books. ]

Greetings, my fellow imPorts.

Many of you should have received letters by now in regards to the new library within Maurtia Falls. If you have not, it's either because you are a new arrival and I did not want to burden you, I could not find a proper address to deliver the letter to, or I somehow missed your name on the list. My apologies if it was the latter.

[ He gestures toward the mountain of books within view. And that is only a small fraction. ]

I am pleased to announce that with your aid, we were able to raise approximately 12,089,855 US Dollars and counting, roughly three thousand books were donated, and many of you offered your time toward the construction efforts with many more offering time toward programs when the project is complete. I am sincerely grateful for the outpouring of support from the imPort community and am more than happy to answer any questions you may have about the project. As a token of my gratitude, I will be holding a celebration when the library opens. Unfortunately, due to recent events, the date of which has been pushed forward to April.

[ And hopefully it won't have to be pushed forward again due to any more unforeseen imPort blunders. But Baelish folds his hands on his desk, his expression growing curious. ]

I do have a question for those imPorts who are politically inclined. Which party do you most associate with? It seems the list goes far beyond simply Democrat or Republican, and I'm interested to see where many of us fall -- particularly those of us who are new to democracy. And for those who are not quite new to the system, has this world changed your opinions at all toward your original party?

I suppose that is all. I do extend my greetings to the newest arrivals. My name is Petyr Baelish and I serve as the ambassador for Maurtia Falls. If there is anything you need during this time, do not hesitate to ask.

[Videoblogging fresh and early in the morning with this serene backdrop, Jesse looks clean and put-together in a way that suggests he's been fussed over by stylists for at least an hour and probably just came straight from a photo session. So... Oh yeah, hi, all you new guys. I'm Jesse, in case you didn't know that. Been here a, uh, long time now. Three years? So, you know, hit me with questions and I probably got a few answers.

[He claps his hands. Moving on.]

Anyway, I started a business. Something I been working on since summer, actually. 'cause volunteering at hospitals and all, it's great and I'm still gonna take some time and do that, but like they say: When you're good at something, don't just do it for free. So check this out:

[And he pops over a link to a website.]

And, look, before you say anything: No, I didn't name it or design it or anything. Way smarter people than me did all that. I'm just the guy with the superpowers who gets to look pretty in the ads. Don't ask me if I do yoga. I seriously don't do yoga.

Where was I going with this? Uh, right, we're hiring people. Healers are the best, but if you got any kinda powers you think might be useful around a luxury health resort, come at me. I'll find a place for you. This business is about showing the world what kinda good us imPorts can do and making a shitload of money while we're doing it. So everybody wins, really.

[ This is Baelish, coming to you from the Maurtia Falls Ambassador office. Not Baelish coming to you from his casino or Baelish coming to you from his strip club. That makes this professional, right? ]

Greetings, my fellow imPorts. For those of you who do not know me, I am Lord Petyr Baelish, Ambassador for Maurtia Falls. I wished to address you all to talk about a few things, but most importantly this Nonah election. It is of utmost importance that we vote and show support for our fellow candidates. The job of ambassador is an important one, and I believe all of these candidates have qualities that would work to benefit Nonah. It is in your hands to decide who best will fit your city. But I implore you to truly look into who has the policies and qualities you seek. I would be more than happy to illuminate some of those to any imPort who may not have been following the race too closely.

[ And that's all he says on the matter since his good pal Dorian Gray had always harped on him about talking too much in his network posts. ]

Second of all, for those of you who recall the attack in Philadelphia at the ambassadorial celebration -- did any of you happen to return with the remains of one of those monstrosities, whether it be for scientific study or perhaps as a souvenir? I have been curious about what information can be gleaned from them -- especially in relation to the ImProcreats, if anyone still happens to have their little creature from that Swear In for comparison.

[ A beat. ]

And lastly, I understand this day to be a day of gratitude -- a nationwide celebration for families and friends to get together and sit down for a meal. Unfortunately, on this holiday I find myself largely alone and I am certain there are others who are in a similar position. If anyone has need of company, I can provide a place and wine if you can provide a dish of food or two. It does not have to be traditional in terms of what is served, but the important thing is that we are not alone when we could be together.

That is all. In the spirit of Thanksgiving, I thank you all for your time and wish you a wonderful holiday.

Should anyone be looking for me in person for appointments or the like, I'm afraid you won't be able to find me in Nonah any longer! Nothing against Nonah, of course, and certainly nothing against my housemates.

Our dear Ambassador Baelish offered his assistance in finding me a place of my own here in Maurtia Falls, and I have to say, it's as breathtaking as a well-formed eukaryotic cell! It also has a nice studio for my genework clients, but don't think that I won't still make housecalls for those who want it!

[ Her new address will be attached to the post. Meanwhile, Haen hums a bit, tapping her finger against her lips, before continuing. ]

Oh, and I do have a question that I'm hoping someone here with some longer tenure might be able to answer... how would one go about requesting someone from home to arrive here? And don't give me the ~official answer~ please, I already know that one! But there's so many people here with friends they know, I think there has to be something more to it.

There are plenty more further down that aren't import superhero themed, and but the majority have carefully picked out costume names for the ones that aren't licensed- things like 'Rock Queen' or 'Colorful Superlady' or 'Webstress'.

Imports, let's talk about the future.

[ Well well. There he is. He looks a lot different from the man he's been pretending to be, but it's in small, subtle ways. Head held higher, drink in hand, sunglasses propped on his head, the suit's a little looser, disheveled. In the background, there's the sound of a pout, like someone's disappointed he's not gallivanting around, instead taking time on the network. Instead of a clear liquid, like last time -- it's amber, definitely some kind of whiskey. ]

What do you want out of a future? Prosperity? Peace for imports? The ability to go home? That last one isn't really under any of our control, by the way, no matter what anyone says. How about being treated equally? Wouldn't it be nice if we weren't the exception, but instead a part of the norm? When superpowers become normal, when they're something that can come within, suddenly, it's not about where they come from, what their world is like, or what weird things influenced them -- because we're all human, at the end of the day.

But that doesn't mean that humans can't be the best they can be. [ He sits in his seat, and puts his feet up on the desk, crossed at the ankles. He's obviously not recording from a comm, but an internal camera. ]

And I know, I know -- some people are going around, saying that I'm not "myself", but what they don't understand is that I'm doing exactly what I've always done. You know that? I've been a futurist for as long as I can remember -- even before coming here -- and I've worked to build a future that I can be proud of. You know, when people look back, they're not going to look at the people who never made a difference, those among us who are content to just let things slip by, and make no waves. No, they're going to look to the people who changed the world, and if they didn't make the best one, then legacies are stained.

I don't know about you, but I don't want my legacy to go down with a whimper. I'm going to make the future better, whether you like it or not, and oh -- you can hate me, you can hate what I've done all you want, but...

At the end of the day?

I'm being the best person I can be. And so will everyone else. Things are so much easier, so much better if we don't let ourselves be held back by those issues. When we're held back by control, trying to pretend to be just as stupid as everyone else out there, when we're hiding our powers, our genius, what makes us great? We've done nobody any good. I stopped worrying, and it's been...

[ A pause. He breathes. ]

Nevertheless, he only feels it's the right thing to do and let people know what's going on.]

So um hi... I don't know how many of you know me, but I'm Riku's little brother Kagami. [He then lets out a small sigh before continuing.] I'm pretty much posting here to let people know that my brother isn't here anymore. He's gone home. I've been searching all afternoon since I got home from school, but he's nowhere to be found. I've tried contacting him over his phone too and got no response back. So in light of Riku going home, I've decided to continue running his delivery service on the side as much as possible and well, if anyone he knows needs a hand or help, I'm offering that too. It feels like the right thing to do in both regards and what I feel Riku would have wanted. So yeah, that's really all I needed to say.
