WANTED: 1 courageous soul willing to run weekly shopping errands for this week and the next. Buyer will be compensated for purchased goods and for time spent. Must be able to follow a list. Must have more patience than I do for the modern American custom of swarming the shops en fucking masse during the week before Christmas. Thank you.

We didn't have Christmas in my world so this swarming of the shops is pretty shocking. It's like people forgot their manners all of a sudden.

I hope you didn't try to go out the day after Thanksgiving.

I watched the news reports and decided it would be in my best interests to stay home and bake instead. I try not to judge people, but I can't see how going out at 5 AM to shop is fun.

Did you know they call it Black Friday, in honor of the darkness that descends on people's souls?

I'd believe it. All in the pursuit of, say, a cheap television. I guess I don't quite get it since I never had TV in my world.

Replace it with something you do have, then. It's still fucking odd.

The closest thing I've seen to it is when a bunch of people swarmed Brother to check out his automail- that's a kind of prosthetic limb we have in our world. He has an automail arm and leg, and engineers take any opportunity to look at them, especially if they're unique work.

Either way, I'm staying far away. Drinking tea is much more appealing.

A man after my own heart. Will you be attending a holiday party, after all this has died down?

We're going to have one at Aegis Force HQ, but otherwise, I plan on staying in. It'll be nice to have some downtime, I think.

I noticed nobody new seems to have arrived this month, though. That's odd.

Are you sure? Perhaps they just haven't come on the network.

[sonofgold]

It is possible I haven't been paying close enough attention. I have the worst excuse ever for that in that I just adopted a cat and she's quite distracting.

Cats aren't that exciting.

[sonofgold]

We'll have to agree to disagree on that one. I've wanted a cat for years but could never have one since Brother and I traveled so much.

Well, in that case, congratulations. I suppose it would be exciting then.
