Finn awakens, and he's on a cart, with a few Nords. The cart pulls into a small town, guarded by Imperials and Thalmor agents, making the Nords in the cart snort with disgust. Soon, they're told to get out of the cart and stand in line. The horse thief tries to run, but is shot down with arrows.

One of the Imperials notes that Finn's not on the list. His commander orders that Finn be executed anyway. Finn looks over, watching as a Nord is lined up, forced to put his neck on the block, right before the executioner swings his axe down, lopping the Nord's head off.

While is his going on, there's a loud roar from the sky, but nobody can place where it came from.

The commander orders Finn up next, and the Dunmer is pushed towards the executioner, his head forced onto the block. He has a good view of the tower from this angle. Right as the executioner raises his axe and prepares to swing down, a huge, black dragon lands on the tower and roars, startling the man with the axe.

Finn takes his opportunity to spring up and run.

The top of the mountain always makes Finn shiver, even as he's bundled up like this. The Blades have told him some hard to swallow things about the being he's here to see, and he needs to know if it's true.

A huge, golden dragon awaits up at the top. He looks kind, almost grandfatherly.

The two greet each other, and Finn says, "So, Paarthurnax, the Blades tell me that they want you dead. Because you did some bad things once."

The dragon replies, "The Blades are wise not to trust me. Onikaan ni ov. I would not trust another dovah."

"Why not?"

"Dov wahlaan fah rel. We were made to dominate. The will to power is in our blood. You feel it in yourself, do you not? I can be trusted. I know this. But they do not. Onikaan ni ov dovah. It is always wise to mistrust a dovah. I have overcome my nature only through meditation and long study of the Way of the Voice. No day goes by where I am not tempted to return to my inborn nature. Zin krif horvut se suleyk. What is better - to be born good, or to overcome your evil nature through great effort?"

Finn thinks about it for a moment, before nodding. "I guess, the latter."
