Hey all!

[Enjoy David, sitting in what is CLEARLY some sort of cramped space. A trailer maybe? Probably a trailer because he's sipping from a bottle of expensive juice. Ah the trials of the television star. And for him, it is, he'd rather make his own juice.]

For those of you who aren't aware, my name is David Alleyne, I'm psychometric, and that's the set up for a show I work on called The Untold History of Antiques on the Antiquities Channel. And things have been slow for filming this winter. Because you know, travel time and vetting people that should be allowed on television. So the producers had an idea.

They want me to see if there are any ImPorts who want to be on TV, who have acquired nice antiques or items of questionable pasts we can showcase. So I'm sorta supposed to ask people if they want on the show and have anything interesting.

[He smiles at that and shakes his head.]

They don't seem to process that most of us haven't been here long or when we are, we haven't acquired a ton of stuff that is older. Or, well, if you have something that might have a mystery around it works too.

The only rule is nothing magical or sentient. That can give me a headache.

So, anyone want to be on TV? Speaking from experience, it's a good way to springboard into a television career for those of you who don't really want to go with part time work here.

Failing that, anyone a teleporter I can bribe to help me sleep in my own bed at night? I hate shoots.

I don't want to be on TV. I'm curious as to why you'd get a headache. Isn't psychometric just psycho and metric? In this place, this world, I'm feeling no which is why I'm curious.

Psychometry is knowing the history of an object at a touch. Things exist for a LONG time sometimes. But things of power? Things that arcane and from forces beyond the normal? They don't follow normal chains of existence. They can be literally unknowable. It's something a human brain cannot handle at time.

Oh so it is the name of your quirk. Your "power". You must run the glove industry into the ground. Or do you see the construction they went through, too? That sounded more sarcastic than I meant it and I'm capable of extreme sarcasm, just this time I'm still curious.

Ah, you're one of the people from that world. I've met a few of you. Like All-Might. It's my ability, yes. And tangentially related to the mutation I was born with back home. But you're welcome to call it a quirk.

I used to go through a lot of different gloves actually. Got used to being fashionable with them, and keeping everything that wasn't my face covered at all times. But I've got it under control though.

As for the construction, no. I only see things from the point they consider themselves 'completed'. It's hard to define. Like, if I touch a knitted scarf, I get it from most of they way through the knitting, but I don't know the history of the yarn. It's... arbitrary. Like a lot of things here are.

And don't worry. I'm certain I know people more sarcastic than you.

[Give him a second, he hates seeing that name let alone anything else. Having interest in other worlds that are, what he feels, similar to his own has become a passtime.]

"That" world, I guess. But lucky you to meet the one and only. He seems to be lacking heroics these days, then again most retired heroes do.

Worlds like mine where something seems a birth right interest me. Does your world see your mutation as positive or negative?

Heroes that can live long enough to retire are very lucky. Or very good. Don't shake a stick at it.

Mutants are not seen as human. We have faced multiple attempts to wipe us out. Humans hate that which is different.

Just heroes? I think I'll stick to what I said. It's nothing I wouldn't say to his face.

It's too bad your world is just as oppressive as ours I barely find places where heroes touch that aren't marred by some kind of conflict. Just this time it doesn't seem to be your fault, so far.

I can touch an object and know the history.

Oh, heroes in my world are more welcomed. Provided they're aliens, or they make badass tech, or they GAIN powers. It's only those of us BORN with them that are treated as bad as we are.

We're a whole other subspecies of humans, and they feel threatened.

Not really interested in being on TV but I have a table that might interest you. I bought it from the Church of the Ancient Web Mistress during a rummage sale.

So they're welcomed as long as greed is the end game for what I'm assuming is already powerful and established non-subspecies. They should be afraid. Maybe that fear will do good reminding them of their shitty behaviour when someone finally pushes back if they've already resorted to trying to commit genocide.

Is anyone from team genocide here, right now?

Part of me wants to hate you because that is ABSOLUTELY the sort of thing that would be WONDERFUL on the show. I'll have my producer get in contact with you. We've done anonymous 'appraisals' before.

I'm going to need the biggest shower after. I hate things having to do with that particular cult.

Seriously, at the moment you sound like Magneto. And as much as he's done some good for the mutant community and he's the grandfather of the guy I'm dating back home, I'm REALLY not cool with that.

Hate to run the cliche but, we need to be better than them.

And no. Seems like this place draws in... special people. And frankly, most racists against us aren't that special.

You can only push someone so far before their back is against a wall and they have no choice but to push back. I don't know who Magneto is, but I'm going to file that under someone in your world that pushed back. You need better than both sides.

If these unspecial people were here, what would you do to them? Knowing how dangerous their ideologies could be.
