I hate that whole "that's the way things are done" excuse, that's just like-
Okay, there was this behavioral experiment once, with monkeys. They put a bunch of monkeys in a room with a ladder and a banana at the top of the ladder. If a monkey tried to climb the ladder to get to the banana, all the other monkeys would get sprayed with ice cold water. Eventually the monkeys figured out the pattern and would beat the tar out of any monkey who climbs the ladder. They started replacing monkeys, one or two at a time, but stopped spraying water. The monkeys taught the new monkeys to beat the crap out of the new monkeys if they tried to climb the ladder because they didn't wanna get sprayed.
Well eventually they replaced the entire group of monkeys. So like, none of the monkeys had ever been sprayed with water, and what do they do? They still beat the daylights out of the monkey who tries to climb the ladder. Why? 'Cause that's how it's always been done.
...and that's why giving over a month notice for ending your lease is a waste of time. [w hat]
voice.
