We've got posts up playing icebreakers and asking for people to regale them with the exciting tales of their weekend, so I think it's safe to say that we're past the current crisis? We better be, because I'm sick of slicing my fingers up leafing through the classifieds and don't need anybody jumping on me for being flippant during a tragedy.

I'm looking for a job. I had this whole thing typed up with my preferences and abilities, but it ended up sounding like I was looking to run bootleg liquor over the border.

Which. I mean, if there's an opening for that I'm totally down for an interview? But that's not exactly the kind of thing you advertise for.

I was a private detective back home, buuut honestly I think I broke more laws than solved actual cases. No convictions, though! Uh. The point is I have a shitty skillset and I am super desperate. If the job's not boring as hell and it can finance dozens of pre-ordered video games I'm interested.

Look, it's this or I start prying radios out of hovercars. The crime rate of Heropa is in your hands!!

Not really sure I like the idea of my new roommate threatening crime quite like that. I mean, not like I really care about this place much but yea.

I'm sure there's always retail places looking for workers. There's always jobs in retail.

We were in this house first! If anyone has a right to fill the linen closet with stolen radios it's me and Stoneface.

And I can't work retail. For many reasons, none of which are really the sort of thing you discuss with strangers in public.

'cept for the whole 'stealing things is illegal' part. Then again, do cops here do that money-for-tips thing? 'Cause I'd not object to getting some free cash.

Hey, we all got our weaknesses. What about working a coffee shop or something? Or hell, go find a temp agency or something

I don't know, I just don't get caught in the first place. And the stealing thing's kind of a situational problem anyway.

Honestly, I'd rather get a job through here if I can. imPorts seems a lot more willing to not ask any questions when they're hiring.

Mmm, I suppose so. Though in my experience there's a lot of places willing to not ask too many questions when they're hard up enough for help.</font.

Situational like there are some times when it's really unavoidable if I want to stay in one piece.

Oh, sure. But that never really works out down the line when they're full up again and can start being a little pickier - imPorts seem to have a baseline understanding that I can work with better.

I dunno. I've been in some pretty tight financial spots and never resorted to stealing. Guess it's just 'cause of all the "You're the defenders of Truth, Justice, and the American Way" I had drilled into my head as a kid.

Yea, I suppose I shouldn't really talk. Never had a job that lasted more than a few months except for the whole business in Portland. And even then, I'm here instead of there, aren't I?

Who said it was always a financial thing? And even pickpockets (which I'm not, I'm just saying!!) can be patriotic, that's kind of a limiting view there.

Well, you can always catch a bus out there to see if the job's still open in alternate Earth. So you're doing a little better than I am.

I was thinking more the Justice part. Y'know, since stealing's against the law and all. Eh, whatever. Just don't make me feel honor-bound to report you or anything

Don't think it will be. They say all the superhero shit's through these government guys.

Hey, I already said I've had no convictions! There's nothing to worry about...even if I do actually have to start jacking people's radios.

Never hurts to check, right? And you get a nice trip out to the west coast either way.

I am rolling my eyes so hard right now. Just 'cause you've never been caught doesn't mean you've never done anything wrong. That's like, basic common sense. Same as the fact that since you've said all this stuff about stealing radios on the public network, if anything like that does go missing they'll be looking at you first.

Yea no. I don't even have a fucking car yet, much less the money to get all the way out there.]

They can look at me all they want, they can't do a thing unless they find a hoard of illicit radios! I know exactly what I'm doing here, don't worry.

It's really not that expensive if you're willing to sleep on a bus for a week. I've done it before.

You'd be surprised. This seems like the kind of place that wouldn't turn down a little more good press wherever they can get it.

[Yea. If you're willing to work for the government. I'm still not too sold on that here. I think I'll just stick with my ever-so-kindly provided job. My life's been too fucked up as is. ]
