Capsule 001 ð (Video)
[If there's one thing you never want to do, it's recruit Kaneda for anything that he didn't want to be a part of originally. Because getting teenagers to do ANYTHING you want them to never goes over well. In hindsight, the city should've known that. But being recruited for some military position? Doing a job (and an awful one at that, in Kaneda's opinion)? You might as well sign the release form now and let him get back on with his life.
But they didn't. Which...complicates things.
He doesn't leave a moment to cool off, flicking on the communication device to reveal a...very upset, very angry Kaneda.
Understandably. He already lost most of his life and friends. Two more just takes the proverbial cake. So the government might have to work a little bit to get Kaneda to cooperate, just a little.]
HEY! Anyone going to tell me what's going on without using crazy talk? Where my friends are? I don't exactly trust authority.
[They kind of fucked up his friend mega.]
And where's my freakin' bike?
[Ah, there's the teenage boy problems we all know and love. After all, why read the information when you can yell about it?]

But you do have powers.
[ audio ]
[Something about being a criminal and them being law enforcement. It throws wrenches.]
...
[But there's a quick flipping of pages heard over the feed as he slowly peeks back into it.]
See, this is the 'crazy talk'. I never...had these.
[ audio ]
[ no, really, Kaneki gets it. He was on probation before, he was a target to put down back home. So he does get it. ]
Many people never did. Many people did, though. It sounds crazy, but it's true and you will eventually learn how to use them.
[ audio ]
[There's a soft pause as he flips through it more...reading up on the powers he was given.]
Leeeeet's see here--WHA--?
My bike!
[Amazing what reading can do, Kaneda. You solve your own problems.]
I can get my bike back! By...'conjuring?' What...like magic?
[ audio ]
Yes, I suppose that's what conjuring is. They usually describe the power. [ keep reading. ]
[ audio ]
[Hello sudden mood change.]
Kaneda's back in business!
[ audio ]
It seems not all is bad.
[ audio ]
That bike's pretty much all I had.
