Yeah necromancy is...different. [and also very very new. and also its existence at all is entirely his fault, on purpose? the audio catches a guilty cough, but he presses on] Resurrection heals death, binds a soul back into its original body just as it was in life. Necromancy...well, as far as I can tell, if you do bind a soul to its original body, it's sort of a hack-job that leaves gaps, and the disconnect is why risen dead don't heal naturally and can't take healing magic.

Does vampirism work on the dead where you're from or is that something you have to do as someone's dying?

I mean they're not a real thing in mine, but the mythology all leans toward the latter.
