[ Welcome to a brand new, somewhat bare living room! Laurie’s sitting on the floor, her comm shooting from atop the coffee table. There are a couple of half-unpacked boxes off to the side and some shuffling going on somewhere immediately off camera. ]

Oh. There it goes. Um. Hi. It’s Laurie. And Sasha.

[ Cue Sasha’s legs appearing right behind Laurie. She bends over so her face can be properly seen and waves, smiling into the camera before plopping down on the floor beside her friend. ]

Hello!

We just wanted to kinda… Show off a little bit, I guess. Because we’re currently moving into our new apartment.

[ Sasha’s smile grows a touch wider, evidently excited having their own place finally. ]

We were trying to have everything set up by Thanksgiving, but that obviously didn’t work out. We’ll definitely be in business before Christmas, though. Like… Way before, even.

Sooo, Laurie and I were thinking when we’re done setting up things we would hold a housewarming party! Yeah, so if you’re friends with us you should come over!

Right, yeah. It’s… It’s that, or another Christmas party. Or both. Take advantage of the opportunities you have, right?

Either way, if you’d like to drop by, let us know. And please know us. Unannounced guests are one thing, but unknown guests… That’s a bad time waiting to happen.

Thank you! There's still some stuff that we need to do to it, like furniture and curtains, but it's shaping up.

I'll skip the party, but I'll send over a housewarming gift.

[ Dorian's normally Captain Party...but he's still not entirely sure where Toby sits with regard to Laurie and Sasha and would totally drag Toby along if there was a party. Better safe than sorry. ]

Are you two still in Heropa?

You don't have to. [ Like, really. It's hard to tell whether the sentiment's supposed to be real or what. Maybe it is, maybe it's just teasing. Either way..! ]

Except I'm going to. This is what, your first apartment? There's bound to be something that neither of you realize you needed until I'll send it over. [ it's real, in a sort of 'Dorian is still trying to be a nice guy so that he can shove Toby into Laurie and Sasha's good graces' sort of manipulative way ]

I don't blame you for sticking close. We've got so much already with regards to Heropa and the Porter cities, why throw that away?

Well, traditional housewarming gifts are usually something cute and useless or kitchen appliances. It'd be a little too on the nose if I gave you something cute and useless, so how does a blender sound?

[ Dorian's not going to shove his dubious taste of knickknacks onto Sasha and Laurie. Keeping it safe with kitchen appliances it is. ]

Ohhh, that would be great! Then we can make fresh juices and smoothies! Get us a magic bullet!

[ What do you mean she's not supposed to be asking for stuff? If Dorian is offering, she'll ask for specifics. ]

It looks lovely already, but I'm sure it will be better once you're finished! Where have the two of you settled?

[ Sasha is actually awful at decorating so everything either tends to clash or is rather sparse. Girl could use some pointers. ]

Pretty much! It's still some unpacking to do. Did I tell you I could teleport with inanimate objects? Not big ones or a lot... but I can do it.

If I needed to do it, it wouldn't be a gift. Close to Christmas anyway so they'll be on sale.

You're progressing well, then! I imagine that must be much trickier when teleporting, but I'm sure it must have expedited the whole process.

[ A shy laugh at that. ]

In the beginning things would kind of get lost on the way.

[ She kind of did it with one of the dogs at the shelter once and accidentally dumped it in the middle of someone's kitchen. ]

But I've got it under control! It makes moving and grocery shopping so much easier.

[ The dog didn't end up in a wall. That means you did okay, Sasha. ]

It makes everything easier, really. Wherever you need to go, whenever you need to be there, immediately at your fingertips. Just in doing so, you create an endless amount of time in your life.

A little bit more. There's still work and school. And lots of homework.

If everything you do is in the same city, I suppose it would only be smaller amounts. I do a lot of commuting.
