Do you even know what we're fighting for?

[ He stares at her. His current opinion is that she's too far caught up in denial to see any element of the truth, but let's interrogate that theory. ]

War cannot be said to have ended until one side concedes defeat, and then terms are drawn up to ratify that. There would be a treaty, weighted towards the side of the victor, before peace could be made. That, by the way, will be when it's time to parley. Not now.

For us, right now, victory would mean the return of our fellows, alive and, if possible, well.

All of that is far in the distance. We haven't planned our first move, much less our last.
