[Hello, imPorts! Today, when Saint Walker takes to the network, there is a certain solemnity to his perpetually cheerful features, though that in no way overrides the pleasantness in his voice. It is out of acknowledgment of their current predicament; nothing more.]

Good afternoon. To say that the past few months have been trying would, I think, be something of an understatement. I am unable to make any grandiose statements that alleviate this tension, nor am I able to offer any suggestions on what one may do on the macro scale. What I would like to offer, however, is my personal help to any of you who may be feeling the strain of these trying times.

Where I am from, I often guided those in need of assistance in sorting out complicated feelings, and guided others in the art of meditation. Whether one is facing great problems or small - and I assure you, I have provided my help to people who fit both of these categories - meditation can help with that, whether it is to assist in bringing about even temporary inner peace and calm, or bringing clarity to matters that need addressing.

Indeed I have. The local library and one of the university observatories have gotten to know me quite well over the past few weeks.

[He's never really considered the difference before, but it makes enough sense. He relents.

But...hope? Doc's quiet for a bit longer than usual, because he's conflicted here. On one hand, he knows humanity's atrocities too well. He's guilty of contributing to them. On the other...he's worked every day to look for things to admire and enjoy. He's kept reaching out, no matter how often he's turned away.]

It's difficult not to feel them diminished, but...heh. If I haven't given up by now, I don't think I have it in me to do it. There's got to be a chance we'll pull through this, however small and difficult to find.

I will cooperate. [ He wants to do this, being helpful in what small ways he can. ]

Do you call everyone brother..? [ It's a strange feeling, being called that again, but...he doesn't mind it. It makes him happy, in a small way. ] Why is that?

Peaceful is not a word anyone would ascribe to my home planet, unfortunately, [ he says with amiable dryness. ]

I'd like that, thank you. Are you intending on holding group lessons, or individual? I see you've gotten quite a response.

[He chuckles.]

If that is truly the attitude you have taken on recent events, then I believe that you will cope just fine during your stay here. A certain resilience is always a positive thing.

Plenty, I hope! Have you ever engaged in meditation personally, L'Arachel?

And what of inner peace?

A greater response than I had initially anticipated, in fact. Many come underneath my care when no other options have presented themselves; I am glad to see that the people here do not feel moved to the absolute brink before accepting help. As for my lessons... I will conduct them in whatever manner is most comfortable for any given student. Why, is there another you would like to bring with you, brother?

It is good to meet you, Skullman. I am Saint Walker. And yes, I do call most brother or sister, though I do, of course, cease to do so if they are uncomfortable with it. I call you that because in some small way, we are all connected -- we are all family. It is an acknowledgment of that fact.

Ah! I am glad that you have told me as much. We can, perhaps, shift the focus of your meditation not on awareness, but on calming one's own mind. I assume that you have difficulties sleeping because of the inability to still your thoughts, correct?

I do not believe that it had to come down to fighting either, but was unsurprised that it did. Sometimes it is difficult to restrain one's aggression in the face of fear and rage, in the emotions that great threats awaken in us.

Helping others is simply what I strive to do. Should I ever stop doing such a thing, I do not believe I would be myself anymore!

Perhaps a trip is in order next, then. The view of the stars where we live is horribly obstructed from where we live, I'm afraid. When I had first arrived, I flew to the countryside merely to get a better look at them.

There is a greater chance than you might think, brother. I assure you, people have managed to find their way out of far worse situations than this one before, and will continue doing so long after the two of us are gone.

Hope is simply the belief that things can change, and that things are worth changing. Only with that belief can one take action.

Saint Walker. I'll remember... [ He listens carefully to that reasoning, and nods, after a moment. ]

...Family is nice. There was...a time I thought I didn't have any, but I was wrong.

[ He sounds... a little happy, to be proven wrong. ] 'Saint'...is that a name, or a title given to you?

I'm sure there's those types, too, but you won't be seeing them until then. [ Just a trace of sarcasm, Gregor well familiar with people waiting until the last possible second to have you clean up their messes. ]

Oh-- no. [ He actually snorts, letting the humor through. ] Imagining Miles trying to meditate is a disaster. I was just curious.

[ The Doctor can't help but light up, giving Saint Walker a small grin. ] I'd be up for that. The Doctor and Saint Walker, having a field trip!

I never thought of it that way.

[ Her ears flick curiously. ]

I just always thought of it as...sitting in one place for a really long time.

You're quite right. I've been lucky enough to grow up during such a peace. But I do hope we won't be setting a record for 'biggest war to be resolved.'

[that last is said with a small smile.]

What of it? I'm peaceful.

I've always been told I'm too hard-headed for my own good.

Oh, no, my spiritual endeavors tend to be much more thrilling! But I'm nevertheless quite knowledgeable about the practice. I'm certain I'll master it in no time.

I can imagine. What sense do you focus on, for that kind of thing? Smell? Hearing? Or is it more of a...personal choice kind of thing?

And investment seems to be something many people shy away from. The meditation I practice is a very old form taught by my Order.

I am glad that you did find family. There is little that can be treasured more than such connections.

Saint is a title -- and a title that I do not demand others use. Many from this world are uncomfortable addressing me as such. It was given to me by my people, however, so I will continue using it for the rest of my days.

[He chuckles.]

That is indeed a very large part of the equation; I cannot lie about that part. There are more active forms I instruct others in, if they find sitting still too difficult, but there is a certain peace that can only be attained once your physical body is still.

[That does not, of course, mean your senses aren't still alive.]
