I should be trying to sleep, but I don't think I can. Not after everything that's happened today. I'm still trying to wrap my head around it.

I was in the middle of an important investigation, and being kidnapped to- to wherever this is, and given weird powers by a bunch of military guys, wasn't exactly on my agenda! I'd just like to thank whoever had this bright idea, or whatever cosmic force decided it'd be funny to keep me from finding out the truth-!

[He squeezes his eyes shut and takes a deep breath, sounding a little calmer when he continues,] ... Okay. I'm fine. Tomorrow, I'll try to get my bearings and find out more about this place. It's not like I have much of a choice.

That doesn't mean it wasn't an important one! I learned all about your cases with Mr. Wright when I was in law school. You can't really say you're just like any other prosecutor.

Well... they let me stay a defense attorney, but I think it's some sort of pre-hire period.

[Are those cases really part of the curriculum? Edgeworth can't decide how he feels about that piece of information.]

Contingent upon your registration, I suppose.

Right, the military registration. They told me a little about that... I have until Saturday to decide if I'm going to do it.

Yet it is a decision which will shape the course of your life for the months to come. Do you really wish to approach with "no brains," as it were? You may disregard me as you please, but I would advise that you dig a bit deeper before truly committing to this course of action.

Representatives from the military make occasional transmissions on the network. It might be worth seeing what sorts of things they prioritize.

Under most circumstances, I am more obligated to them; this is true. Here, however, it seems that due to our small numbers, we must take a more...balanced approach.

Even at home, though, I do follow the prospects of talented young defense attorneys.
