[M heads down the stairs of his modern two-story loft, an apartment way too nice to be government housing. As he turns to the left after coming down the stairs, he enters the kitchen area, which he crosses through to get to the fridge on the far side of the large, open room.]
So this is the fridge. Short for refrigerator. It keeps things cold.
[He opens the french doors of his particular fridge to show off the inside. There's a lot of takeout containers lining the shelves.]
It's where you store things if you want slow something from spoiling.
[Closing the doors, he reaches down to open the freezer drawer. It's mostly empty with the exception of a few tubs of ice cream.]
It's got a compartment either on the top or the bottom called a freezer. That keeps things frozen until you want to eat it. Fridge keeps things fresh a few extra days, freezer can keep things fresh a few extra months.
[M closes the freezer drawer.]
There are exceptions.
[He then points to the black device immediately to the fridge's left. Judging by the layer of dust around the glass jug housed in the center of it, it hasn't been used in a while.]
Coffee pot. Brews coffee, a drink made from roasting coffee beans. Some days it seems like coffee is how most people keep themselves awake during the day.
[Moving to the coffee pot's left, he points to a silver device embedded under the counter-top.]
Dishwasher. You can wash dishes by hand, or you can shove them in here and have the machine do it for you.
[M tugs down the door. His racks are filled with used cups and utensils ready to be cleaned.]
There's controls for the device up here. Read 'em, touch the button you want, then hit the start button to make it go. When it's done, dishes are clean and good to go.
[Closing the door of the dishwasher, he presses a few buttons and starts the machine. Might as well, given how many dirty dishes he had in there, after all.

He goes to move on, but stops.]
Am I moving too fast?
