[A low, dark chuckle emanates from somewhere in the Count's chest.]

Regrettably, that is the case. No one has ever demonstrated the skill and equipment necessary for such a feat. All attempts at research have failed. And many doctors would be unwilling to even try: tampering with sensitive government property might be considered a crime against 'national security', after all.

[Hemali's composure makes it difficult for Dooku to gauge how readily his narrative is being received by her, but she hasn't challenged or resisted any point so far, which is a good sign. Any conversation that spreads distrust of the authorities is time well-spent in the Count's book. He leans forward slightly, a mockery of a salesman's enthusiasm- But wait, there's more!]

Ah, yet the situation is even more serious than that. Even if the devices are disabled or removed, illness and suffering will be your only reward. A dependency has been engineered into them, you see. Your body is beginning to rely on the nanites even as we speak. Soon, very soon, you will not be able to heal or resist illness without the machines within you. In a sense, every imPort is addicted to the government's technology.

[Dooku pauses for impact, then gives a grim, sardonic smile.]

A rather heavy price to pay for the chance to travel, if I do say so myself.
