[Jacob films this post while standing in front of the white walls of Helix Station in Maurtia Falls, wearing a navy-blue tank top and black shorts. Judging by the sweat visible on his arms, he just finished his exercise for the morning. His ramrod-straight posture projects an image of Official Business that doesn't match his casual tone of voice, or his workout clothes.]

Hey, everyone. I'm Jacob Taylor. I work with RISE: that's an imPort police team, for all you new arrivals out there. I'm putting together something new for the community... kind of a public safety resource. Like the FAQ, but focused on who's causing trouble these days.

So I thought I'd ask: what do you think are the biggest threats around here? Criminals, terrorists, the Soviets? Maybe there's something most of us haven't heard about yet that more people need to know about. It's important to be aware, especially when people might want you dead. There's always something happening under the surface around here.

Oh, and just so we're clear: this is going to be a list focusing on groups, not individual people. So don't bother talking about who your least favourite imPorts are.

[He pauses for a moment, then relaxes his posture as he segues into more civilian matters.]

That's about it for official business. Unofficially... I was wondering if anybody has got suggestions on a good name for a dog.

Seems pretty quiet on all three fronts right now. [ Well, other than his roommate and Axel. But he's not about to throw the Rogues, if they could be called either that or a "group" under the bus right now. Oh, what a few months can do. ]

I've lived on my own before. It was my house before anyone moved in with me. It's... it'll be just like that. Just... you know, with no one filling up the swear jar.

[ and a LOT OF EMPTY SPACE. He sounds a little less enthused as he goes on, though. ]

Big dog? Small dog? Lazy dog? Energetic dog? We need more specifics here!

It'd depend on the dog and, personality and how it looks, I think.

Though, will the FAQ focus on groups alone, too?

[He wants to hear everyone bitch about other imPorts, he's not on a ship anymore so he doesn't have juicy scuttlebutt to listen in on. How's he supposed to know what everyone's up to if no one's allowed to bitch about it?]

So you're hopping on the dog bandwagon too? Hope you're prepared to find dog hair on everything. It's inescapable. Don't wear black.

Sorry, Joker. Only dirt I'm interested in today is about terrorist groups and gangs in Maurtia Falls. I can give something more interesting next time I buy your drinks.

I know the risks I'm signing up for, don't worry. And I wouldn't call it a 'bandwagon.' Just... lots of people like dogs, that's all.

That's the plan initially, at least. Since criminal imPorts get such light sentences, there's not much of a point in listing them. We'd get accused of publicly shaming people who had already served their time... even if that time was only two months. Groups like the Go-Fors are another story.

Big and energetic. I'm looking at a yellow labrador... like these guys.

[And he sends her a picture illustrating why he's leaning that direction.]

Really. Why do you say that?

Because I'm planning on getting one, if my roommates are all right with it. What do you think of 'Grizzly' or 'Hammerhead?' You know, to match with Mako.

[Jacob tilts his head slightly, because when he thinks of 'Pluto' he thinks of the dwarf planet.]

Pluto, huh. Any reason why?

Sure, aside from whatever sent those monsters after Philadelphia during the summer. Or whoever keeps sending us coded messages through the news. Trust me, there's always something going on where you can't see. Can't count the number of times we've been blindsided by something we didn't see coming.

I always liked her little space hamster, personally. It was more... durable than her fish.

But I think it would be interesting to see you with a dog, Garrus. I could see you taking care of a German Shepherd. They get trained as police dogs a lot.

That was going to be my next idea, yeah. Or 'Dorian, stop making a mess!'

[Jacob sighs.]

How's marriage treating you so far, Toby?

[Jacob squints.]

And that mech used to be a spaceship?

Right. Sounds like a real party.

How about I talk to somebody at the government about getting you some new roommates next time housing assignments are handed out?

Yellow labrador. Probably a rescue. Like one of these:

[ Cullen doesn't know enough about anything in this world to address threats, but he does know dogs. And he can communicate with them now, so he focuses on that. ]

I called mine Pup. [ He follows that with a lopsided smile. He knows it's lacking. ] Now I would simply ask him what he wishes to be called.
