Commander would be an excellent dog name, though. [ Just saying. ] It's odd, that's all. I'm not sure I've ever met someone who went by rank and their last name, over the first.

[ Knight-Commander Meredith, First Enchanter Orsino, and... well, possibly the Viscount, but that's not military. ]
