[Sensational but so far unverified rumors have been circulating since dawn about the body of an imPort being found in Heropa early this morning, but it's from somewhere much further north that this particular transmission arrives. A transmission that remains mostly silent for several seconds after the audio kicks in, with only the sound of Maurtia Falls' afternoon traffic and the low murmur of distant conversation to be heard, in addition to a brief burst from a nearby police siren at one point.

Then a drained-sounding, slightly shaky voice finally speaks up and, gee... she almost sounds like she's seen a ghost or something.]

...Sarah, Cosima, it's Ruby. If you or any of your sisters hear this, can you please answer me as soon as possible? Something happened and I... I didn't know how else to reach you all. I don't even have all your numbers but I need to talk to you. Or. At least hear you check in, say hi, whatever.

[She takes a long, shuddering breath.]

I found-- Oh, God... Please just respond quickly. It's important.

( when she catches the post, she recognizes the voice, and the terror, even if she doesn't recall any of the names. must be connections Ruby's made since she arrived in Florida. still, even if it's not exactly something she's a part of, Emma can't stay out of it either. )

Ruby? You okay? What's going on?

I'm fine. [A sigh.] More or less.

I thought something bad might have happened to my friends, but they're all okay. Hopefully the rest of their family is too.

More or less isn't promising...

( still, she breathes a little easier that Ruby isn't in serious trouble. )

What made you think something bad had happened?

...because I found a body that looks just like them. They and their other sisters are all identical.

You found a dead body, and you're trying to tell me you're fine?

( because she's not sure she buys it, Ruby. )

I'm glad your friends are fine, but... how the hell did that happen, a body that looks just like them? Do you think it's magic?

[La la la, ignoring that first part~~]

I don't know. I mean, we've seen it before, haven't we? With Archie?

It has to be something like that. There are two sisters no one's heard from yet, but I overheard the police saying this is the third body they've found that looks the same as them. So unless they grew another sibling overnight...

Last time I checked Cora is dead and not in Florida, but it is a trick of hers.

( Emma isn't sure she could manage magic like that, thanks to her restrictions... but she doesn't want to know for sure. )

There's got to be a reason they'd target them, without actually going for them personally. ( Emma can't tell what it'd be, but her wheels are turning. ) Is the body with authorities? Probably. What about where you found it, maybe I can... I don't know. Sense something?

( magic is not always a refined art when it's Emma Swan using it. )

Maybe it's someone else's too.

[Not that she has any idea who or why.]

But yes, the body's with the police or the coroner or... whoever's supposed to have it. I can send you the address for where it was if you really want though. It's just an alley in Maurtia Falls.

I can check it out, at the very least, but I don't make any promises.

( as much as she'd like to help ruby, she's not sure her magic stretches that far... or what they're looking at is even magical. )

Seriously, Ruby, are you okay? I remember how you took the last body you stumbled into. ( she'd been cursed then and it was just a heart, but still... hadn't been great. )

[She hesitates before answering.]

I will be. I just... God, it was terrifying. Her eyes were missing, Emma.

( first a heart, and now a body missing eyes. Ruby you're not the luckiest girl in the world. )

Her eyes? Jesus... ( Emma sounds unsettled too. for all her time in bail-bonds and her time as a savior and sheriff, she's yet to see someone missing their eyes. )

And she looks so much like them. Until I heard them say they were okay, I couldn't-- [She breaks off into just a heavy, shaking inhale.]

( even if it isn't one of Ruby's friends, she can understand why she's so shaken. she can remember finding "Archie's" body; that sure had felt real. it makes her wonder who the body actually belongs to, but that's not the biggest concern right now. )

But they are okay. ( Emma isn't always good at these positive pep-talks, but she really is trying. and while she's at it... ) Are you staying with friends tonight? I'm not doing anything, if you need some company.

Um, I hadn't... thought about it. But that would be nice. Thanks.

[She sniffles a little.]

I think I broke some paparazzi guy's camera earlier.

( those photographers of iMports were seriously insane, and while Emma avoided the worst of them, she still knows they're out of control. )
