I really depends on the person. If you are facing a native, they don't have powers, so certainly they will work.

But if you are fighting someone who is impermeable to metal, you can't use bullets on them. If you are using magical weapons, perhaps they can pierce anything, but if your opponent can turn into a ghost, it becomes difficult to pierce them so to speak.
