It does help, really. To have one of our own there to ease the transition into this world. I imagine most do find it distressing. You could likely write a book on the various reactions you've encountered when it comes to imPorts first arriving through the porter. Most I've seen have been at the extremes of either denial or acceptance. But you must have encountered much more interesting ones in your time.
