The whole 'plot' is just to show everyone they should have the 'Christmas Spirit' and get along with each other and be happy and friendly and do whatever they can to be nice to each other and be a good person during that time of year. That's how it always works with them. How they get to that point don't really matter 'cause it's always the same end.
