It is Latin word meaning "therefore," from Cogito ergo sum.

Cogito ergo sum is Latin philosophical proposition by René Descartes, a French philosopher whose name is Latinized to Renatus Cartesius. Cogito ergo sum is one of his most widely quoted propositions, translating roughly into English as "I think, therefore I am", however it was translated into French first. The reason for its translation was to ensure it reached a wider audience, although it was not the phrase translated alone, rather the broader work it was first presented in, Discourse on the Method. The Latin presentation was in a later work, titled Principles of Philosophy. Descartes is considered by many to be the father of Western philosophy, and the principle of doubt, questioning and thinking as key to our very existence is a significant part of modern philosophy. Descartes did not accept anything as an authority or given simply because it was presented to him as such, but doubted and interrogated everything.

I do not know what his opinions on pink lemonade would have been.
