Um hi everyone! I uh...I'm Sarah Rainsford and I've just arrived here, here being Maurtia Falls specifically. It's a little overwhelming to suddenly be in a whole new world all alone without any friends, but I guess I'll manage. I've been given a nice job and a home so it can't be all bad right? [A weak smile, blah blah blah, there's nothing else she needs to say to establish her pseudo-character, so on to the important stuff, finding out who here might be a threat to her.]

I just wanted to know if there's anyone out there from my own world. I'm from a city called Metropolis, has anyone heard of that? Maybe Gotham? Although that's not a very nice place, but it would be kinda nice to talk to anyone from home.

[Now to see which fishes come and bite at the bait she's dangled for them.]

Well, I think he was here. I never really interacted with him, though. There is a Batman. And I know there's a Jonathan Crane and Julian Day -- if those names mean anything to you.

Batman, seriously? That guy's a serious criminal where I'm from! I hope he's behind bars here? [Otherwise he might be a very serious threat to her plans. The other two names she knows, and could be potential allies.] I've never heard of those other two though. How long have you been here?

Oh no. He's still roaming free, I'm afraid.

I will be celebrating my two year mark next month. So it's definitely been a long time. But not as long as some people. Tony Stark has been an imPort for eight years. Of course, some of that time was spent in a world quite similar to this one.

That's really bad news. [It is too, and that's actually not a lie.]

I see, so I potentially have an eter...uh lifetime of being trapped here to look forward to? That's a kick in the pants. ['Sarah' probably wouldn't sound so bitter, but it slips out anyway.]

Mmmm. I suppose it can be -- if you really have something worth getting back to back home. But time stands still there, so when you go back, you will go right back to the point where you left off. No memories at all of this place. So really, why not enjoy the vacation? It's not like it will matter in the long run.

A vacation, yeah I guess I can think of it that way. Just because I'm trapped here is no reason not to have a little fun.

It's a cage, but at least it's a pretty unlimited cage. You could go just about anywhere in the world. Except Russia, I suppose. But it's not like there's any big loss there.

I've been there in my own world and you're right it's not much of a loss. [Although this continued Cold War could be a big opportunity to cause a little chaos.] How close tabs does the government keep on us?

I think it's about half and half. They have the means to keep tabs on us with the nanites, but they also don't monitor us too closely. If we were to leave the country via teleportation without letting them know, we would be flagged immediately. But if you go about and commit a murder -- just as an example -- they're not really watching what you're doing. A lot of people have gotten away with it.

I don't recommend trying it, of course. [ Of course. ]

I see. [That's by far the most useful thing she's learnt so far, thank you stranger. How interesting that she chose such a dark topic as an example.]

Gosh people get away with murder here? That's really shocking! [She even sounds sincere.]

It can be, admittedly. But you'll hear about it quite frequently in Maurtia Falls. So I advise you to be careful when you're there. Of course, you are an imPort. There's a 95% chance you would return from death.

Seriously? ImPorts can return from the dead? [How inconvenient] This place just gets weirder and weirder, although not dying would be pretty amazing.

Most of the time. There are a few exceptions -- imPorts who have died in this world and never returned. But for the most part, the nanites they injected us with will revive you.

[So a girl can't murder a problem and expect them to go away permanently? That's annoying, added to that she can feel the pesky little nanites attached to her cells and no matter how much she tries can't expel them. It's very frustrating which bleeds out a little into her voice.]

Lucky for some I guess.

And unlucky for some more. We've had more than a few nuisance imPorts in our time.

[ And Raina's not even sorry for wishing some of them dead. Hell, she would fully confess to wishing Daisy would die, port out, and never return. ]

Well, it would hardly do for me to gossip so openly about such things. Perhaps if we were to meet over a glass of wine -- that's a much better setting for such conversations.

That would be lovely. My schedule is very flexible, so I should be able to move things around to meet with you whenever's best.

How about The Iceberg Lounge? I haven't been there since Oswald Cobblepot owned it, but it was a lovely place in his time. He has since ported out. I just realized it might be another name you recognize from Gotham.
