Well, there's this girl I know, and everybody wants something from her. They push her around and try and drag her into their stupid games - it's like she isn't a person to them. She's just a thing.

[The smile is gone at this point and she glowers for a moment, and her voice rises as frustration takes over. However, it fades when she speaks again]

But I thought... I thought that it was just enough to be with her. That all I needed to do was stay with her and chase them all off. [She laughs breathlessly, and shakes her head] But now... now I'm wondering if that really was enough for her.
