Changing society as a whole sounds about as ambitious as attempting to change people's morality, insofar as I can see. I am, however, still new to this world and to its' norms as a whole.

Yes, well, there's a bit of a time gap between myself and most other people. Overly vague and formal might be the best I am able to manage, sometimes. Though the idea of these things having an 'intersection' intrigues me, given back in my era things were viewed in rather forcibly simplified ways. People might look at me as Jewish or as part Azeri and thus 'mixed race', though I have no idea if that term is still used in polite society, but they never seemed capable of seeing both of those things existing in myself at the same time. [Racial politics and Russia: a maelstrom of headache-inducing madness, to be sure, but one he'd learned to live with.]
