We're all getting the tattoo either way here, so I figure for me, I might as well not add 'being feared by the government' to that list. That's something I can control. [While it's true she didn't have to side against the Accords in that no one forced her to take that side, she still had that initial choice to fight against it and maybe win. There's no arguing with the nanites here. Maybe that's why she can see some of a difference amidst all the similarities. She'll admit that the line is very fine, though, sure.

While she's not yet on the government's bad side here, there are people -- other imPorts -- here who have been afraid and wary of her. It feels like every time she tries to trust someone with the knowledge that she's telepathic, they seem to hold her at arm's length like she's suddenly the scariest thing they've ever met. She can here almost everyone's thoughts, and yet she's alone. She's not short on irony.]

Maybe it is selfish, maybe it is a weirdly specific fine line, but I don't think anyone's wrong for not wanting to register. There's probably four hundred ways to see the issue.
