There wasn't a "Russia" where I'm from, but yes, I've heard much of the same. Apparently the Russians have taken out a number of the cities before, unprovoked. It seems more like the military forces here are formed to prevent things from getting any worse.

Of course, if they weren't, I doubt they'd be likely to tell us that.
