[Well now, this is a side of Dr. Crane Hans hasn't seen before, but given what he's found out about a certain fear gassing incident, he's not as surprised as he might have been otherwise. It would seem that the underlying intensity he'd noticed back when they had tea together comes to the surface on occasion.

He holds off responding for a while, listening to the various conversations, amused by some of the reactions.]


I don't celebrate it. It isn't a thing in Germany. [Not yet anyway, in 1988.] There is however, something similar; Walpurgisnacht, which happens on May Day's eve, when witches meet on the Brocken mountain and hold revels with the Devil. It's more bonfires and pranks than candy and costumes.
