Betrayals create unexpected allies.

That alone has been a surprising side effect of recent revelations.

[Grievous is on screen, in his human form. He seems thoughtful although there is an underlying anger to his next words.]

I would assume that vengeance is frowned upon in this world. At least, the kind that creates a balance in the severity of the crimes committed.

So what do you do? What have you done?

When somebody has betrayed your trust, used you for their own ends and set you up for eventual failure, ruining both your reputation and your life...

What would you do to rectify the situation and be at peace?

I thought for a long time seeking revenge and doing something against those who have wronged me and mine would bring me peace and would create balance.

To this day, it hasn't. So I wonder if it's even effective.

Learn to be more cautious? To never trust?

I'd live my best life, just out of spite.

Because clearly they were out to screw that up.

How can anyone have a 'best' life here? Especially knowing that a fitting punishment hasn't been dealt.

Death is far from permanent here. Therefore suffering would be the more viable option.

So do the opposite. I'm not saying drop fighting entirely, but like... I dunno, pick up crocheting for a hobby. Donate your time to charity. Find something that could be fun to do that is so completely separate from what Dooku wanted and just keep doing it out of spite.

It sounds like you think I should abandon combat instruction and pick up the job they gave me upon my arrival.

Well... you're not registered, are you? You're going to need some kind of funds, so working the job you were given might be a good idea for awhile.

Here things are far more complicated.

Revenge is nothing more than pointless self-destruction. It does not bring satisfaction.

Seek justice, but do not engage in injustice to reach it. Find what remains of yourself, and piece it back together. Create a new reputation. A new life, without them.

As for peace... I'm told that comes with time.

Justice of a sort has already been set upon him, just not for the past misdeeds. That is perhaps all we can ask for here at this point of the legitimate systems.

I aim to complete myself once more. Then I will be strong again and can make a more constructive decision.

Caution is always necessary.

but by learning I mean, learn how to live from that. And learn how to live with that.
