So it occurs to me that there are different forces at work here, among even the imPort population. I confess to have no real understanding of these political intricacies, but feel as though it's important to remain aware of the influences permeating our own subculture of sorts. So far RISE and the Justice League have been spoken of in passing, but what are these organizations and are there any others? An overview would be appreciated.

I feel I should also express my thanks to those that met with myself and my colleague last month before the swear-in, as well as to those that assisted us during the event itself. We are most grateful. We've decided to take employment at StarkTech for the time being, where we'll be heading up a new biotechnological division.

We're not! We're Best Friends! And yes he most definitely does pick on me and critique me and yell at me and complain about me. And that's okay. He wouldn't be Hermann otherwise. He is Sir Hermann the Filer of Complaints, m'lady. He's a real nag, but you learn to tune him out.

I've known him over a decade. Hermann is a bit repressed and reigns himself in well, he's ridiculously well-mannered, but he's a spitfire. Besides, he just likes to complain about me. And I give him plenty to complain about. It's what we do.

A well built fortification may keep an invading army at bay while the defenses are rallied, or while aid is summoned, or so I have witnessed, in my short experience.

And it's those rallied forces that will destroy the invading army, not the wall itself. It may serve as a delay tactic, but they do not win wars.

My apologies, Miss Lucy. There are those in my world that thought otherwise and very nearly cost us everything. As you might imagine, it's not a fond topic. I'm hard-pressed to believe it had any purpose at all, where it sounds as if yours at least have experienced some success as fortifications.

You have no reason to apologize; we are from different worlds, with differing needs, that much is abundantly clear. I have experienced war in a world where fortifications have saved lives, but I am truly sorry to hear that this did not work in your own.

It was idiotic and short-sighted from conception, I'm afraid. A show that politics and ignorance can still play a large role on any battlefield, to its detriment.
