mathemagier: and try to sound less like an idiot (Repeat that please)

So it occurs to me that there are different forces at work here, among even the imPort population. I confess to have no real understanding of these political intricacies, but feel as though it's important to remain aware of the influences permeating our own subculture of sorts. So far RISE and the Justice League have been spoken of in passing, but what are these organizations and are there any others? An overview would be appreciated.

I feel I should also express my thanks to those that met with myself and my colleague last month before the swear-in, as well as to those that assisted us during the event itself. We are most grateful. We've decided to take employment at StarkTech for the time being, where we'll be heading up a new biotechnological division.

[A little later, an additional notation pops up]

Never will I understand the desire to erect a wall in the face of opposition.

It's good to hear from you, Dr. Gottlieb. And congratulations on the new job; it seems a great opportunity.
I hope you've been well. You and Dr. Newton.

I've been well. Keeping busy much like you.
We can all rest better knowing he's been caught.

I am the curator of the paleontology department, yes.
Currently, I'm also working on an initiative to provide assistance to non-human imPorts and imPorts brought in with an animal like I was.

No, not until I found myself here.

I currently find myself bonded with a nine-week-old Tyrannosaurus rex.

Not physically. [ if that's the source of his concern. ] But yes.
Her egg was among my belongings. When she hatched, she imprinted on me.

Not that unique. Rare, but there have been other imPorts in similar circumstances.
Though from what I have heard, none with a dinosaur.

How sweet and thoughtful, Herm. But yeah, you'll definitely hear all about this.

So you're bonded with her just like she thinks you're her mother? Or do you have any further control over her?

Hello, Dr. Geiszler. It's a pleasure to hear from you.
driftsintobuffetline: (call me newt!)

[personal profile] driftsintobuffetline 2015-09-21 03:12 am (UTC)(link)
Claire, call me "Newt." And the pleasure's all mine.

All right. And in answer to your questions, I was the first living thing she saw so I would assume so.
If I could control her, I would have had her stop chewing on the legs of the kitchen chairs weeks ago.
According to the files I was given, it is an empathic bond. It's an -- odd experience to describe.
driftsintobuffetline: (can't have too many handtalk icons)

obviously still private, just now with added newt

[personal profile] driftsintobuffetline 2015-09-21 03:31 am (UTC)(link)
It's pretty impressive you still have chairs for her to chew on. How big is she?

And ok, so it's more than just mother, less than extension of your brain. Got it.

When I say "I can imagine," I want you to understand it's not just a figure of speech. In my world--out of necessity to win the war, mind you--I brain-linked temporarily to a Kaiju (think Godzilla + a hivemind). To say it's an odd perspective is an understatement. It's really cool! Very scary, but cool.

I don't entirely envy you with that being an all-the-time thing. At least with my similar bond with Hermann, he's human. I think. I can't say I've checked.

If you're willing to tell me more about your bond or your dinosaur, I will do my best to supply input. First off, though, what's her name? I feel bad calling her 'your dinosaur' like she's a pet or a car.
