If someone were to discover that they possessed an ability that had the potential to endanger the lives of those around them, what sort of options would they be looking at?

Other than resorting to criminal detainment of course, and where learning control is not an option, as it simply doesn't function in a controllable manner.

So essentially what I'm asking is, is it possible to voluntarily arrange for import abilities to be suppressed? Are there any non-permanent options? What sort of side-effects could one expect from undergoing such a process?

You'll have to forgive the lack of details I'm afraid, as they aren't mine to share.

[He's asking for a friend okay. Yeah when's the last time anyone bought that. Still though, it's true.]

Feel free to list any contacts you may have regarding this issue.

Thank you.

Tell a few others who you think might help, and keep quiet to everyone else.

Me.

Porter gave me a power that makes it too dangerous to really practice on. If I bite someone, then they will die and turn. No exceptions.

Just not biting people seems to work. [ Carl did made tentative plans with one or two people about trying to figure out this power - as well as Carl's virus within him - but the Russians had their own agenda. ] And even then, if I do bite anyone, it's better that I put them out of their misery before they turn. It's an agonizing way to go.

I don't know the exact details of your friend's power. If it's like mine and won't work unless you do an exact thing, they'll probably be fine. But if it's something they can't control, they probably need to find a power suppresser.

That I don't know. My first guess is the government, they would definitely have them. But I bet some of the imPort tech companies would have them as well, for protecting their products.

I can't imagine they wouldn't. It's something I would invest in if I had a company while being surrounded by supervillains.

If he had something like that, I don't think the Boss would tell anyone anyway. A) people would be afraid it might be abused (a valid concern) and B) you don't tell your enemies you know how to thwart them unless you're a super-villain monologuing and then you're going to lose anyway.

Wow. You drew the shitty power lottery there. My condolences. Seriously. Good luck. Does it work on non-humans? Would you be willing to allow for a lab-controlled test/examination?

The friend here. I've tried to find a way to immunize people against it, with no luck. And it's impossible to entirely, without fail, prevent the power from being triggered.

...Look, I...forgot?

Okay. So I will try to be anon and convey my messages through you. Happy? It's just...god, Hermann, that power. Can you imagine? I'd like to see that one in action, you know?

Oh please. Anyone who can bite people and turn them to ...undead? Zombies? whatever they turn to, has seen some shit. Regardless of their age. He's good for it. It'd be nothing to just...nibble on a rat and let it turn so I could see what happens. Maybe even enable me to develop a cure--

I bit three Russians, but I haven't done it on animals. I've assumed it's like my home where the animals aren't turned by the virus at all if they were bit by a walker.

But I'm not risking it on imPorts. According to the file, the power can create different strains to imPorts, so any walkers they turn into might have different abilities. What if I bit an imPort and they can't die to a bullet to a dead, or require something really specific that no one knows about in order to kill them? Or they get really big and and can use their original powers?

So are you trying to immunize people of your own power that's been bothering you?

Okay. Fair enough. I was going to offer a rat, but if it won't work, I'm not offering myself as a test subject and I wouldn't offer anyone else for something I myself won't do.

I'd like to immunize people against my problematic power, yeah. Two of my powers are cool, one is not, and in the interest of public safety and particularly this guy's safety (and our cat's), I'd like to be able to do something.

Right now I have the means to undo the lesser issue my power can cause AFTER someone has been exposed. But that's assuming someone is available to administer the antidote.

I'm no scientist. The virus within me is nullified by the Porter so it won't spread to other people, but if I do die, I had it arranged so someone will stop me if I come back. [ He just hopes it won't be his father to be doing it when Carl does die. ]

Getting the nullifier is your best bet for now. It might block all your powers, but at least you got something to fine tune it with. The Russians did it so most of our powers are suppressed during the Seminar, but not completely. No reason why you can have something similar.

[Grumbles to Hermann in person] Sure, yeah, because telling people is going to prevent me from turning into a walking bio-hazard if I get so much as a bloody nose.
