Hello? This device seems to be for, uh, communication -- so it seemed like it would be best to reach out, uh, on it. I need your help.

[ Lucretia isn't immediately recognizable, unless you know her very well. Her face is less lined, her voice lacks a certain amount of her gravitas, her hair is a bit more blonde than it is stark white, and she's more emotional, more expressive. That, and she looks about thirty years younger, in her early twenties. Luckily, though, she's ready to introduce yourself. ]

My name is Lucretia. I need anybody on this to listen to me, even if it's kinda weird. This is... This is really fucking important.

Has anyone seen a light fall from the sky? Or has anyone heard about a strange light that, or, uh, anything that suddenly turned up that's very powerful?

I don't know if the others are already looking for it, I think we must have gotten separated - but just in case I'm the last one left, I need to find it. I need to find it before the Hunger gets here. Please.

Haven't seen any sorta light, besides the sun... Sky's a different color here than I'm used to, which is whackadoodle, but... [ he shrugs ] If I see any suspicious lights I'll let ya know!

[ Lucretia has always been a smart cookie and even though she's never used a comm before (from what she can remember) she definitely sees the name and does a double-take. ]

Well, I mean, you can read the names on these devices but that's not, uh, that's not really the point here. You look -- I mean. Uh. Are you -- are you a cleric of Pan, by any chance?

[ Please, Lucretia. Merle sucks at using the comm devices when he HAS got memory of being on Earth for month. Don't expect him to know how to use them to their full extent NOW. ]

Pshht! Me? Nah. That's what my dad and them are into.

[ ...Huh. Maybe she has the wrong Merle Highchurch. ]

Oh! Oh your father -- do you mind if I, uh, ask what he's like?

Oh, yanno... Cleric of Pan, important figure back on the commune. Surrounds himself with other Pan worshippers. Kind of full of himself.

[Jacob is staring. There's just no way.]

Lucretia?

Yes, that's right! Is there - is something wrong?

Lucretia! There you are!

Magnus! [ Oh thank god, something here that's normal. ] It's so good to see you. Do you know where the others are?

No, but I'm sure we'll find them soon! Honestly, I was starting to wonder if we got, like, scattered across this world or something. Where are you? I'll come find you!

I see. I'm certain he can't be all bad, can he...?

That's what I thought. It's strange, I don't remember landing here -- [ But they must have, right?

She's already figured out this thing communicates through video, so after a bit of fiddling she manages to show the street she's wandering around on. ]

I'm in Heropa.

[ ...Weird. How does she know that? Maybe she saw a sign or something and forgot. ]

Me neither. I think... maybe I got knocked out? Or maybe I just fell off the Starblaster before we landed. [ He scratches at his cheek, then shakes his head with a chuckle. ] Wouldn't be the first time. Someone told me that they got this teleportation device here - it'll just be a hop and a skip and I'll be where you're at. Just hang on; I'll find it soon enough.

I don't know if that sounds right but... I can't think of what else it could be.

[ But she nods and she waits for Magnus, while searching for a piece of paper to take notes about this new world with - she doesn't seem to have her journal on her. By the time Magnus arrives, she'll be figuring out that the communicator has a notepad app and trying to use the touchscreen keyboard. ]

[ Once Magnus sees Lucretia, he wastes no time in rushing straight up to her and interrupting her very intelligent process of figuring out this world's technology by wrapping her in a big bear hug, swinging her up and off her feet. ]

I am so glad to see you! I was starting to think... aw, you know. [ A year on his own, even with the friendly looking locals, would have been quite an ordeal. He sets her down, looking fondly at her. ]

Not such a bad looking world so far, though, if I do say so myself. And I do!

[ She laughs at the hug, so genuinely pleased to see him and similarly relieved. ]

I'm pleased to see you too, Magnus! I was ready to go it on my own but... [ It wouldn't be preferred. ]

It's got a lot of strange and interesting technology, doesn't it? I wonder how it all works --

Ma'am?!

[ Well, this is certainly disorienting! Angus - an older, broad-shouldered, teenage Angus - stares at Lucretia with wide eyes. What on earth is she talking about? ]

I... I haven't seen anything like that, but I'll certainly keep an eye out?

I'd appreciate that a lot, thank you.

[ She might not remember Angus, but she didn't need to roll a full success to figure out that reaction was... odd, but she did and she pings on it pretty quickly. ]

I don't really think I'm, uh, well I don't look like a "ma'am", do I?

You're not giving us a lot to go on. Any other signs we should look out for? Just what is the Hunger?

The hunger? Sounds a touch ominous, darling. Mind explaining what that is?

It's a glowing ball of light we call the Light of Creation -- it's... well, it's unmistakable. You see it and you know it's powerful, even if you don't understand it. People are often drawn to it. Including the Hunger, which isn't, uh, really a person as much as it is a collection of entities that consume worlds. If the Hunger gets the Light of Creation, that's -- that's the ballgame. This world won't survive. It's so important that we find it first.

We call it the Hunger because it devours worlds. The sky turns dark, the colours drain from reality and it sends its -- for lack of a better term, its armies down to ravage the worlds and find the Light of Creation. With its power it can eat planes of existence, adding them to itself, becoming bigger, more powerful. And it won't stop. You can't -- you can't stop it from coming. But if we can find the Light of Creation first, if we can get it away from it it won't be able to consume this reality.

[ She's not really used to being the one to make this spiel, and so she's nervous. But she sounds absolutely certain this is a thing that's true. ]

So, uh, like I said. Really fucking important.

[ Some people's worlds are insane. ]

I have not seen the Light. And if I do, I will let you know, of course. This doesn't sound like something anyone would wish on this universe. But are you certain it would follow you here? The porter is typically rather strong at keeping the threats from other universes at bay...

Unless those threats are the people, of course.
