Hello? This device seems to be for, uh, communication -- so it seemed like it would be best to reach out, uh, on it. I need your help.

[ Lucretia isn't immediately recognizable, unless you know her very well. Her face is less lined, her voice lacks a certain amount of her gravitas, her hair is a bit more blonde than it is stark white, and she's more emotional, more expressive. That, and she looks about thirty years younger, in her early twenties. Luckily, though, she's ready to introduce yourself. ]

My name is Lucretia. I need anybody on this to listen to me, even if it's kinda weird. This is... This is really fucking important.

Has anyone seen a light fall from the sky? Or has anyone heard about a strange light that, or, uh, anything that suddenly turned up that's very powerful?

I don't know if the others are already looking for it, I think we must have gotten separated - but just in case I'm the last one left, I need to find it. I need to find it before the Hunger gets here. Please.

Lucretia! There you are!

Magnus! [ Oh thank god, something here that's normal. ] It's so good to see you. Do you know where the others are?

No, but I'm sure we'll find them soon! Honestly, I was starting to wonder if we got, like, scattered across this world or something. Where are you? I'll come find you!

That's what I thought. It's strange, I don't remember landing here -- [ But they must have, right?

She's already figured out this thing communicates through video, so after a bit of fiddling she manages to show the street she's wandering around on. ]

I'm in Heropa.

[ ...Weird. How does she know that? Maybe she saw a sign or something and forgot. ]

Me neither. I think... maybe I got knocked out? Or maybe I just fell off the Starblaster before we landed. [ He scratches at his cheek, then shakes his head with a chuckle. ] Wouldn't be the first time. Someone told me that they got this teleportation device here - it'll just be a hop and a skip and I'll be where you're at. Just hang on; I'll find it soon enough.

I don't know if that sounds right but... I can't think of what else it could be.

[ But she nods and she waits for Magnus, while searching for a piece of paper to take notes about this new world with - she doesn't seem to have her journal on her. By the time Magnus arrives, she'll be figuring out that the communicator has a notepad app and trying to use the touchscreen keyboard. ]

[ Once Magnus sees Lucretia, he wastes no time in rushing straight up to her and interrupting her very intelligent process of figuring out this world's technology by wrapping her in a big bear hug, swinging her up and off her feet. ]

I am so glad to see you! I was starting to think... aw, you know. [ A year on his own, even with the friendly looking locals, would have been quite an ordeal. He sets her down, looking fondly at her. ]

Not such a bad looking world so far, though, if I do say so myself. And I do!

[ She laughs at the hug, so genuinely pleased to see him and similarly relieved. ]

I'm pleased to see you too, Magnus! I was ready to go it on my own but... [ It wouldn't be preferred. ]

It's got a lot of strange and interesting technology, doesn't it? I wonder how it all works --

Dunno! You'd have to get one of the nerds on it.

[ He winks at her, as though he doesn't also think she's a nerd, but that's this expedition in a nutshell. It's just six nerds and a Magnus, all lumped together in one weird little family. He starts to walk, sweeping her up in his gait and not going anywhere in particular - for now, he's content just walking with a familiar face. ]

It's nice, though? I mean, I don't wanna get our hopes up early or anything, but it seems like smooth sailing so far. Everyone looks normal, the atmosphere's not trying to kill us, nonthing else is trying to kill us... oh, and the food's good!

[ He's assuming. Maybe he'll die in, like, five hours? But he's pretty sure he's okay. ]

Nobody's seen the Light of Creation, though. [ She bites her lip. ] But... maybe it just hasn't arrived yet. It usually takes a few days.

[ She keeps pace with his gait fairly easily, but enjoying the company. She's so glad she doesn't have to do this world alone. ]

Well, I think I'll wait for Taako and Lup's judgement on the food! ...If, uh, if we can find them.

We'll be able to find them! It's only a matter of time. Hopefully everyone's managed to find someone else.

[ It'll hash out like it always does: him and Lucretia, Merle and Davenport, Barry and the twins. They're all close, after all, but they've settled into their comfortable patterns ever since that first year, when he and Lucretia hadn't exactly gotten close at all.

It's different now. Now, they're all close. It's just that Team Human No Barry You're A Lich Now That Doesn't Count As Being Human Anymore Go Away or THNBYALNTDCABHA for short has got to stick together. ]

Soooooo... why don't we check out what this place has got to offer while we look? It's not like we're helping them any by just runnin' around aimlessly.

Hopefully.

[ She's worried, not knowing where the Starblaster is or where the others are, but he's right. She should have hope. And there's little more she can do right now. ]

I have to admit, I'd love to know more about this world. It's so different than all the others we've been to! I wonder how they get their battlewagons to hover like that -- I don't think it's magic.

[ And she starts searching her clothes for a journal and a pen, but she can't seem to find any, which is odd. ]

[ Just like that, Magnus realizes something he should have realized a long time ago. He's not wearing his uniform. More than that, he's wearing something else, an unfamiliar bracer with a mysterious logo on it. It's a pretty cool bracer, truth be told, but he's been around the block enough times to know that mysteriously appearing armour isn't a great sign. ]

Hey, that's right! Our clothes aren't here with us. I woke up wearing clothes I don't even own. What the hell happened to us when we landed? Everyone here's so friendly, but something's fishy.

I don't remember landing here on the Starblaster either. Or where I got this strange device. [ She holds up the comm to indicate it. ] It's useful but odd.
