003 ☼ video; the day after the shimmer disappears
[The video opens on Izuku sitting on a bench in a certain park in De Chima. That's right, the park with the dead tree people--said treeple are tastefully not included in the shot, but those who live in the city may recognize it.]
Ah, um, hi again. So--two things, I guess? First, I was thinking it might be a good idea to do a check-in of sorts, for those of us who got trapped in that mess, last week, or who went in to help out. That way if you haven't heard from somebody, there's a central place for you to check and see if they're okay. So, if you want, you could use this post for that? Or maybe I could set up a Bwitter account and thread for it so the locals can use it too...
[Or maybe both? Hm.]
Anyway, second -- I think, um, that it'd be nice if there was a memorial of some kind. Especially for the families who won't have a body to bury when all the dust settles, you know? We'd probably need some kind of...permit or approval to do it, but I thought we could start with brainstorming ideas for what to do.
...Thank you.
[He offers a small bow and then cuts the feed.]

voice;
I think a memorial is a good idea. Maybe talk to the De Chima ambassador's office about it?
[ And then, quieter, ] How are you holding up?
voice;
[There's several moments of dead air after the second question, though. Finally:]
...I'm okay.
[He's not really sure how he is, right now. But it's hard to talk about how he's feeling when he's not the one whose life is going to be changed forever by what happened.]
Sorry if I had you worried, Yaoyorozu-san.

A-ahaha...I was careful, don't worry.

tho he did still break a limb, singular, but nobody needs to know that]no subject
[ DO YOU? ]

Not the sort anyone wishes to see, yet all the same, I doubt any will have the heart to tamper with what remains of them.

they already look like they're drying out...
something more permanent would help, i think
maybe somewhere people could attach names and pay their respects with offerings and such

Have you spoken to any yet?
It may be too soon to.

you think it would be unwelcome?

Things are so much more complicated here. Efforts made to reach out and help fellow citizens get crushed under the weight of disaster...and sometimes the best of intentions get lost.
But it's not wrong to try. To ask, to offer aid.
voice;
[He takes a moment though to really listen, and marks how... familiar it all sounds. He wonders if anyone found them... back home. If anyone made a memorial for his town and everyone in it? Or if...]
I don't know what happened, what you're referring to. But I'm sorry for he loss. [He wants to ask straight out what went on but it seems insensitive... Maybe he'll actually just, internet dive to find out? Rather than distress this person anymore.]
Where should a memorial like that go?
voice;
Um...I think it's being called the Shimmer. There was...I'm not even really sure how to describe it, but sort of a bubble, I guess? A lot of people in De Chima were trapped inside, and inside was...
[Terrible. He only remembers bits and pieces, and most of it is of others being scared and panicked.]
...It was bad. A lot of them died. I was thinking a memorial would be nice for this park, since it's where--um, a bunch of the ones who...who fused with plants still are.
voice;
[Shuichi replied. It was a joke, a dark one, and one Izuku wouldn't get but... the tone Shuichi had sounded honest, like he believed him, like he knew the sort of phenomenon the other was talking about all too well.]
Something like that, like a cyclone or force keeping everyone in in a certain radius with strange things occurring inside. The sort of things you can't really explain but all sort of tie together in some way... Something like that would be bad, yeah. Everyone stuck, they would've felt helpless, you can't fight something like that.
At least it didn't last very long.
[He'd add, sounding a little distant.]
With plants. Ah, I see. [As if he's not surprised at all! But quietly he is curling into himself and gripping at his stomach as he feels his insides shift and squirm.]
Would they want that? The ones in the park? Maybe they don't want to be around anyone, or have anyone see them. You should ask.
