I have found... [ Begins Woden, and the camera is angled from below, like someone is holding it. ] That sometimes, if things aren't going your way, it's best to change the situation to one you want.
Take me, for example. Ostracized by my own pantheon, for crimes I didn't even commit... [ A wave of his hand. ] Held accountable for a future that I haven't even experienced, I haven't even done anything, and yet... I'm supposed to pay for my future crimes. I think I would remember, if I'd done something unforgiveable. It's astounding to me, how I'm supposed to just take that kind of thing sitting down, and be isolated in a new world, away from everyone I know, expected to just... take it, and be alone. Especially in a place where I, a god, have no history or understanding of who I am, or how my world works. You would think that extinuating circumstances would make a group of people come together, despite their differences. Despite mistakes made in the past.
But that's no matter, I suppose. You see, reality is what we make of it. [ Woden shuffled, the glow of his clothing illuminated in the dark evening. His helmet practically foggy, from a sudden change in temperature, like condensation had crept across the surface. ]
I don't have to just wait to be forgiven by my friends, especially when they're hypocrites, doing worse than I have supposedly done -- I can... Well... I can always make new friends. That's as easy as just saying a few nice words.
Have fun, kids.
[ The comm shuts off. The SHAMTHEON is loose! ]

Besides, mortals love getting wrapped up in godhood, trust me. They wouldn't have it any other way.

Personally I'd rather take gods down a notch more than getting godhood. Even if it does happen that I have an alternate self who is a god, but that's different.
[No it's not.]

I have an entire pantheon pissed at me, and I'm sure they would hate you just as much as me, if you took this revenge from them. [ He's awfully casual about this. ] But suffice it to say, I know a lot about what a mortal will do to get godhood. It sounds like your "alternate" is the one who knew how great this life can be.

Trust me, I know some of 'em. Man you sure like to piss people off a lot. Must be kinda lonely?
...and it's not exactly like that. I guess in my world gods exist only because people believe in 'em. I just have the power to demons and angels when I want to...our masks made manifest, if you will. Too bad I'm just limited to one here, but he's the one closest to me, so that works out.

[ Forced friends, sure, but he has other friends, too. Some of them were even willing. ]
That's a shame, to be curtailed and out of all of your powers. I can't imagine what that's like -- oh wait, I can. [ The musical voice moves up and down the register randomly, like a synthesizer runs with his voice. ] I've been like that since I ascended. Good thing I'm smart enough to figure out ways around it.
Hopefully you'll find one, too.

[Eikichi knows all about that.]
What the fuck is up with your voice. [He is from too far back to Get It apart from trying to be a big scary robot (that is failing).]
Honestly? Nah I'm good. I'm surprised I have him around at all...my journey was done back home. But if it means I can beat you up or whoever you've got as friends, then I'll take it.

But oh, please do try.
I promise, godlike power only goes so far. We have a habit of -- heh -- beheading each other when things get too nasty. Just ask our benefactor. [ A beat. ] Or, I suppose you could have, if she wasn't dead.

What the fuck. YOU GUYS CUT EACH OTHER'S HEADS OFF???
no subject
What's more dramatic than blowing up someone's head?

[He's grumbling about it, however. Looks like a nerve was struck.]
All of this so you guys get to play gods for a bit?!
no subject
It's not playing. It's destiny.

She's a little old lady. Older than all of us, and she reawakens us once a century.

And I come from a world where dudes with butterfly masks give you powers, then you go into a room outside of reality where another dude with a really long nose calls up demons on phones and greedy fairies who overcharge you so they can heal you up.

You clearly have no capability to grasp the gravity of what happens in my world. The nature of our sacrifice, the weight of what we do to keep people safe, and what it means to inspire an entire century. What it means to have a part of that...
It's unsurprising. Most people aren't smart enough to grasp it.

And I might not be smart, but fate can shove it for all I care. People will tell you "oh that's why I did it! Because it was fate!" Bullshit. If having to blow each other's head is the cure to save everyone, what kind of life to any of you live? You're kinda wishy washy with the whole thing.
Tch. Whatever. I'll just wait my turn in line to speak with you in person.
[He points to his reddish eyes than back to him.]
