[The half-incredulous tone of a guy who is obviously gearing up for an impassioned speech of some sort, but still valiantly fighting the urge.]

A handful of paperwork, [and here he holds up his own file folder,] a mark on the wrist, and an assignment to placate us?

[Someone's vlogging, because as he walks past a nearby burn barrel he tosses his file into it and doesn't even watch the sparks fly up as he continues on his way. Something about symbolically burning the whole damn thing down to the ground comforts Markus enough that he moves on from suggesting outright revolt. For now.]

I'm not moving into a stranger's home, so no one living in De Chima #004 has to worry about a new roommate. And if anyone would like to be a dating app developer, the position is currently up for grabs.

Anyone of a like mind, I'd appreciate your perspective.

Why didn't you remove your LED? [Back home there wasn't time, certainly, and he had to infiltrate CyberLife but Connor's been here over a month. Possibly longer than Markus can tell just from network activity timestamps.]

Oh. [ oh. his fingers lift to touch it gingerly. most of the time, he doesn't even think about it, but-- ] I suppose because I don't have to. [ another pause, rubbing the pad of his finger over the LED, taking a moment to consider how to explain it. ] Because.. I shouldn't have to. I know that CyberLife gave them to us to identify us as androids, but it's part of my body now, and.. my body is my own.

[ another pause, and he lowers his hand again, glance a little uncertain for a moment. ]

At least, something like that. Perhaps I'll feel differently once I've been in the world a little longer. I'm still obtaining life experience.

[A lot of the androids in Jericho kept theirs too, with many of their own reasons, but that response...is nice. Very nice, especially from Connor.]

You know, I think you could lead people decently yourself.

[ immediately, just a little shakily: ] No. No, definitely not. I would prefer to avoid leadership positions altogether. .. Besides, I don't have the patience for it.
