I know Chronic employee turnover says a lot about a business, but imPorts have a big excuse, don't we? [ he sighs softly ] Few of my employees have been ported-out, Itsuki Ozaki and Andrew Pulaski, and :Re Café is currently understaffed.
I'm looking for some help.
We are a Japanese coffee shop located in Nonah, and we provide mostly Japanese food and focus heavily on coffee making and slushies. [ that's because of Veronica, actually ] We also provide exotic food for imPorts. [ it sounds fancy, but it's not really that fancy. In fact, it's quite horrifying, but Kaneki is not going to talk about that on the post. If people want to know, he will answer, though ] We also have a lot of books, so I guess :Re can be considered a "book café" as well.
We work weird hours, from 7pm to 2am, and close every Monday. And we are accepting anyone looking for full-time or part-time. Oh- [ he adds quickly ] No experience needed! I will teach you barista work and how to prepare coffee if necessary.
I will also provide dinner. I promise I am a good cook. [ who wouldn't want to work for money and FREE FOOD ]

[He needs things to pass time and not think about Yosuke being gone anyway.]

Kaneki nods softly ] You are free to do tarot readings at our coffee shop, if you'd rather just focus on them. [ even if Yu doesn't want to do barista work, he can just do tarot readings, that's fine ]
[This is a good proposition and he takes some time to think about it.]
No, I'd like to help as well. I've done that type of work before for the Shiroku Pub in Inaba. It was an adult place that opened late. I'm good with cooking as well, if you need a part-time chef.

....If you need someone to fill in for Andrew until you find someone else full-time, I'd be willing to help out. Just know that I'm not him.
[Andrew was always the friendly, outgoing one of the two of them.]

Thank you. I don't wish to impose on you, though. Andrew-san was only helping us our of kindness, he wasn't truly a full time worker here.
[ a pause ] I'm sorry he was Ported out.

A book café? How quaint...
What sort of coffee blends do you brew there?
video
These kind of blends are a lot harder to sell, naturally.
video
[ Now that's got her more interested. ]
Amazing! I didn't think you could get those beans here... I've always wondered what the blend is like given how the civet eats only some cherries...
[ Oh, she got carried away. She waves a hand. ]
Um, I do hope it's ethically sourced at the very least! Last I remember civets were in cages.

I'm surprised to hear this place has a cafe that is being tended to so well. I guess I'm still in shock about being here and how different all of this is from my world.
How long have you been helping to run it?
Text; UN: D33
Were such establishments not present in the world from which you come?

It's just still so surreal being normal here, after being brought out from my world to this place. I guess I'm trying to adjust still after being here a month or so.

( hell they couldn't even talk in loud voices back home for a while- their breathe would blow everything away.
she offers him a small smile [even the year difference is unnerving]. )
So you've been here a while then?

I can help out when you need it. You don't have to pay me. I've got my CD coming out.
audio
It's alright, you should focus on that. How was it, by the way? Recording and everything?
audio
It was fun! They're already talking about making another one. I think I might try to make a career out of it. Is that crazy?

[More like "huh", but, well... This world is bonkers, and even in her own world, she's encountered demons and things she didn't think possible.
[But hey, unlike the demons, vampires and the like haven't tried to kill her.]
Test tube food, consensual, or...?
