[The first thing you might notice is that Allura is trying to pull off the Earthling casual look, with a t-shirt and high-waisted jeans. She's not succeeding, since details like the big ears and the opalescent eyes make her still look as much like a magical princess as ever. But you know what, she's trying. She's standing outdoors, and some of you might recognize the location if you've chipped in ⁬with Darin's recent community service project in Nonah. In fact, maybe you helped plant one of the young trees that can be seen just over her shoulder?]

So, while we still have a ways left to go, the new park is coming along nicely! You would barely recognize it from the run-down abandoned lot that we started with. There wasn't much to see — not unless you count the large, muddy pit that several people almost fell into. Now it's starting to look alive again, and we still have plenty more trees and shrubs left to plant. And we haven't built a single bench yet!

There's plenty of design details that we haven't yet worked out, too. The name, for example. I don't suppose anyone has some suggestions?

Of course, if anyone would like to stop by and lend an additional pair of hands, we would all appreciate it — just so long as you don't mind working without using your imPort abilities! This might seem to be making things more challenging, but in addition to doing something good for the community of Nonah, we're also hoping to demonstrate that we're willing to put time, effort and consideration into our actions. We're showing the strength of our hearts, rather than the strength of our powers.

Even though the idea of building a park without the use -aid- of pokemon is rather alien.]

As for the name... how about Vigil Park? To show that we remember. And that we're going to stand watch.

[Hello, Jacob. You might recognize this energetic, blue haired fellow as one of the people running around and building whatever he can for the park. He's also the person who personally handcrafted and forged tool sets for every volunteer.]

Vigil Park, huh? That's got a really nice ring to it. I think it hits that sweet spot between respectful and hopeful.

You're...Jacob, right? The leader of Aegis? I've heard about the work you're doing. I was hoping I could actually ask you something.

[Darin, of course, has shed his overcoat, down to his black, sleeveless, high neck undershirt. And of course he's covered in dirt and grease and sweat. He waits until she's done with her address to the network before he pipes up, sitting in the grass and taking a drink from a bottle of water.]

You know, when we got this thing rolling, I didn't expect you to do more than the bureaucratic stuff.

Kinda impressed you're out here slumming it with the rest of us low class volunteers.

[He says that last part teasingly, clearly not meant to offend.]

Should I expect a statue of you at the dedication or something?

[He recognizes him, and gives him a respectful nod as one of the people making this great idea happen in the first place.]

That's me. What would you like to know?

Well, I actually wanted to introduce myself. My name's Darin Altway. I'm a Master Blacksmith and I've been experimenting with more contemporary armor and weaponry.

I recently did some work for Lucina, a member of your team. I wanted to know if you had anyone to maintain or provide your crew with resources in your fight against OTO.

If anything, I wanted to offer my hand in support. Maybe even join up with you.

[Jacob smiles, and not just because Darin is being so formal and earnest right now.]

Good to meet you, Darin. I know Lucina pretty well, she's a great person. If she trusts you with her gear, that's high praise.

We get supplied with a lot of stuff by the government, but it's mostly mass-produced, not custom-crafted. If you're interested in working with us, I'd love to see what you've got to offer... both in the shop and in the field.

I presume you don't mean Red, as in our nickname for the Red Lion?

But if you're planning to stop by the park to help, I'm sure seeing you in person will job my memory.

It is a great opportunity for that. I've had to avoid directly lifting anything, since Altean have a... somewhat supernatural strength, compared to the native humans? So I've had to get my hands dirtier.

[Literally. She's still holding a gardening spade.]

It's already given me a greater appreciation for how much work has gone into this park.

[Darin makes an almost disgusted look at the term 'mass-produced']

I...what? Mass-produced? Augh. Please tell me I didn't just hear that right. How can you put any trust in gear like that? How can the government put its trust in a defense force if they won't even take the time to tailor the gear to the soldier?

[He shakes his head.]

I have a workshop, a forge, in Nonah. I could stand here and sell you what I can do all day, but I'd rather show you my work. I'm an artisan when it comes to more archaic weapons like swords and shields, but I've been experimenting with more contemporary resources. Kevlar meshes, so on and so forth. If you let me at the resources the government gives you? I can promise you gear three or four tiers better than anything that they can 'mass-produce' all custom and tailor fit to you and your team.

As for being in the field...well...

[He kind of shrugs.]

I don't mind showing you what I bring to the table but...I'd ask you don't put me on the front lines of missions. I'll...explain a bit more in private.

[He looks...nervous. But he steels his jaw and nods, committing to the team and his stance.]

I should warn you.

They had... I suppose you would call them kits, that we could have ordered with all the pieces, ready to be assembled into benches. But that was costly, and perhaps a little easy...

Instead, we have plenty of raw materials, mostly wood and metal. And tools to work with them, of course. I'm expecting the benches are going to look a bit mismatched, but what's wrong with that?

Putting aside the fact that I don't need a statue... have you seen what we have to work with? [She looks over at the heap of materials gathered for the benches. Slabs of wood, metal rods, whatever was cheap and recycled and available.]

Making any of that look like me would take some creativity, to say the very least.

Besides, I'm not a stranger to work. If anything, the hardest part is avoiding the tasks that would be easier for me than for most.

I mean...I could probably do it.

Still, credit it where it's due, you've really put your all into this. I'm kinda flattered, actually. I didn't expect this park to get as much traction as it did.

Oh, I like that. It sounds like the sort of place you can take pride in.

The park is the sort of idea I wish I could take credit for. Really, I was only brought in to handle paperwork — but I wanted to help more directly, too. Especially since paperwork would never give me much opportunity to actually enjoy the park.

It really was a great idea, though. Besides the fact that it's enjoyable work, it's good politics for the imPorts. And honestly, I think I prefer these kinds of politics.

[He just sort of grins at 'artistic interpretation.' Like he's daring her to ask him to elaborate.]
