How many imPorts go to school?

I started last week. It's nice to meet other kids here, but it's pretty different from what I've done before.

I was always around a lot of other kids in my world, so it's kind of nice!

But they way everything is set up feels weird.

I haven't been to school in a couple of years, I'm not sure if most schools have lockers.

They're calling it middle school. But they did give us lockers and the desks are really small!

I hadn't been to school in a while back home, and I was already working at an internship here, and nobody was making me go, so I didn't.

Oh, you have an internship? What's that like?

I'm not sure if I'll keep going, to be honest.

It's okay? I work for a place that publishes YA mystery novels, which is neat. It's nothing like solving real mysteries, but it's something.

They did encourage me to.

But imPorts come from different circumstances, so I think it might not suit everyone.

[Kids should be going to school. If just to discover a joy for learning or at least making friends and getting into trouble. Then again he could imagine how teachers would react to super-powered children who throw a tantrum.]

Guess it makes sense. Don't like, but it makes sense they aren't forcing you either. Did you go to school back home?

Not exactly. We all had to take tests and learn things, but mostly we could teach ourselves at our own pace.

How's it different? My husband teaches, so I only know it from the adult perspective.

Well, in the place I'm from we were taught basic things. But after that we learned on our own through tests and books.

it feels weird to sometimes since i don't have to, but it reminds me of home and it's something normal

yeah! so it's pretty good

i came from a world where we didn't have any superpowers or anything like that and I think that's why I keep going

it helps me feel more in control of my life

even if I'd prefer living at the stable and being the queen of horses

I wish :) i just go to school full time, but I do own a horse so i spend a lot of time taking care of him

Horses are really big, aren't they? It must be a lot of work.

some of them are! but my boy's a miniature pony. he's not big enough for me to ride, but he still does require a lot of care. I do have help, but i try to do as much of it myself as possible

which is my favorite way to live life, honestly. being surrounded by and caring for all sorts of horses.

I have been to university the first year I was here, and my little sister went to school. It was something we both enjoyed.

What have you done before?

What was university like?

I guess you could call a lot of it self-directed study? With daily tests.

Interesting, for the most part. But I've always enjoyed studying.

Home-schooling? You will have tests at the school as well, and you will be told to study by yourself, too.

I like studying, but I think I'm ahead of everyone in my class.
