The way he's holding it up by its neck looks very much like a man holding a baby he absolutely does not want to be holding. This is not a wholly inaccurate description. He does not look comfortable. ]

I've got one of these things. Does anyone here know how to play it? [ A beat. ] And is willing to teach others how. I would pay, of course.

And yes, I can't say I've ever been particularly interested in learning, but circumstances change. We can't just rest on our laurels our whole lives.

Well, yeah. I happen to teach playing that for a living, so it’s not exactly going out of my way.

But based off how you’re holding it, the real question is if you really want to learn how.

I do, yes. [ Not for the sake of learning how to learn an instrument - but do his motivations really matter if the end goal is the same? ]

I've never held one before. I assume that's part and parcel with the... [ He shrugs one shoulder. ] ...lessons.
