You know, if anyone had told me a year ago that I would end up a hospital CEO, I would've probably laughed right at them.
[ Iris can't help grinning at the camera; compared to the past few times that she's made a network post, she looks relaxed. Despite the expansion, despite the hours of work that have gone into making it possible... it's all out in the open, and she's even broadcasting from the comfort of her apartment for once in her life. ]
Which is to say, thanks to everyone who's both believed in the clinic and worked so hard this past year. Your efforts have definitely paid off. So here's my question to kick us off, guys - what's one thing you've learned about yourself while you were here?
It can be as small as not liking a certain kind of curry, because I've had that happen, or well... as big as my career example. There's no real limit on what you've learned, you know?

I've learned a lot. Summarizing would be hard, but maybe... I've learned that I can give myself more credit, and that I'm going to be okay.

I've learned that I can have times where I'm not afraid, I learned I can have family that won't hurt me. Oh, and I learned how to take care of pets. [She moves back, showing cats and two dogs in the background.] I've learned a lot.
video
Those are all really important lessons, if you ask me. [ Iris's expression softens upon seeing the pets behind Abigail - ] What're your pets' names?

[ And all that implies for how one might live their life differently in a place like this, versus their own home. Not that Reggie feels a need to elaborate; he's content with his non-answer. ]
What does the CEO of a hospital even do?
VIDEO.
[ she'll get an answer out of him eventually, but for now... she might as well explain her work. ]
It depends, but most of the time, it's answering to a board of trustees and keeping them happy. I'm the "face" of the hospital, so to speak, so I spend most of my time talking to donors, presenting our findings to a wider audience, delegating day-to-day operations to a capable staff, and of course, making sure that the staff has what they need to do their jobs. [ beat ] I'd liken it to babysitting, but honestly - everyone else is really good at what they do.

Thanks, Jaime. It's been a whirlwind of a year, that's for sure - and like, I can't believe I have an assistant now. [ beat ] I know it comes with the position, but an assistant.
