Do people actually like candy corn?

somebody has to, statistically speaking! I’m a big fan of the peanut-butter cups.

Most candy's too sweet for me, but those ones aren't bad.

Are there any you like? Have you been trick-or-treating?

I haven't, but there are a lot of places handing out candy.

I like some of the dark chocolate.

Oh, that stuff’s tasty! Have you ever had macaroons before?

I don't think so. Which ones are those?

Oh! That was actually a typo, but it works. Macaroons are little cookies made of shredded coconut, chocolate and condensed milk. Macarons are like little cookie sandwiches that're made with almond flour and egg whites, they're really light and airy, and you can add different flavours to them. They come in all sorts of different colours! I'll try to make some for the next time we meet up.

Oh! Those do sound good. I didn't know you could make flour out of almonds.

I don't hate candy corn

It's just bland?

The taste isn't bad, but the texture is a little waxy to be a favorite for me.

Well, I think most candy's too sweet.

I have a certain soft spot for jolly ranchers and lifesavers.

Those are the hard ones, right?

Yes. Jolly ranchers are rectangular and lifesavers are circular.

Those can last a long time.

[Still too sweet, but he likes the idea.]

It's not my favourite. It can be used to make good cookies though.

How?

You bake cookies for about ten to twelve minutes, take them out of the oven, press a candy corn to the center of each cookie and let them cool.

For decoration?

Yeah and to add to the cookie.

I guess if you're using it sort of like icing, it wouldn't be too bad.

And it won't burn or melt.

Well, that does seem like a better use for them!
