[ Video ]
[ Video starts and there is one (1) Kaneki and one (1) Riptide looking back at you. Kaneki gently nods his head as a polite greeting and riptide raises a hand in a light wave.]
Hello everyone, we are making an official announcement that we are currently working to visit Death Island and build a memorial on site for the imPorts who have permanently died there. For those who aren’t familiar with the story, in 2008 a group of teenage imPorts went to the island in order to stop a man who built a Death Ray. I understand the naming is… [ IT’S SOMETHING. ] but the Ray killed seven imPorts permanently. It has been ten years since then, and I think it’s important to remember those who were lost.
--Right, yeah, [riptide leans a little closer to the camera. it’s time to pay attention to him now!!] it’s got a weird name and the history sucks. So, anyway, we already have quite a bit of backing from ambassador Baal, Baelish and senator Hundred. Er-- [he looks down. at his hand, where he’s written this information like a normal person.] --The Airforce, some other native institutions. They sure love their advertising. I’m sure you see where this is going.
The only people left to ask are… [he points dramatically at the camera.] you. Is you? Grammar. You. Give us money for this. Also, yourselves. Please.
[ oh god, no - Kaneki moves in, shoving Riptide away as he tries to salvage this ] He-- isn’t wrong. We need funding to build the memorial, but we also need signatures to show imPorts support this idea. We are also gathering them from natives, who have been very receptive to this idea. [slightly off camera, riptide can be heard mumbling that’s what i said!. Kaneki will ignore him because what else can you do? ]
We want to ask you for your support on this, any kind you can give us. [ he bows gently to the camera ] Thank you so much.
Yeah, thanks-- and if you’re gonna bitch about how this ain’t our problem, I don’t wanna hear it! Put that attitude back in the toilet you fished it out of, idiot! [ and before the feed is cut off you can still hear Kaneki going “Riptide, No-” ]

Re: [VIDEO]
[it doesn't, and if something like that happens then he's fucked, unless he could survive the damage in his human form. it's complicated. riptide doesn't think about it.]
Uh, still Cyberronian. One of two factions. Er, three, I guess.
Re: [VIDEO]
"Factions?" You guys are military?
Re: [VIDEO]
[he won't.]
Not everyone but most are. We just kind of finished a giant four million year long civil war.

Re: [VIDEO]
Still...at least it's over? Sounds like whoever went too far was finally stopped.
Re: [VIDEO]
Re: [VIDEO]
[Geez, watching what you say is really hard work.]
...Are you enjoying this world at all?
Re: [VIDEO]
Re: [VIDEO]
Re: [VIDEO]
[invasive uncomfortable questions right back at ya PAL]
Re: [VIDEO]
But if you're like me and get orphaned as a kid and have no money or ability to use magic, then you either become a soldier and sent off to war or you work your ass off to try and get an apprenticeship in a trade.
I was lucky enough to have been adopted by a master blacksmith and I showed enough potential to have him also accept me on as his apprentice.
Re: [VIDEO]
[being literally made to serve in a war, riptide had no choice, and he knows EXTREMELY WELL how terrible it is to have everything pushed out of your reach like that. it feels even worse, somehow, now that he actually knows he could do more than just be a cannon fodder MTO. a small part of him wonders if he was happier when all he had to worry about was shooting the right people.
(he wasn't, but he's not really in the best position for naval gazing.)]
Right... organics stay small for a while. How old are you, again? 30? 40?
Re: [VIDEO]
That's why I always had such an issue with royalty; for most of my life I was basically told to accept that I'm fodder and could never amount to anything more. So, I try and prove them wrong every chance I get.
I'm twenty five. I'm still pretty young for a human.
Re: [VIDEO]
[he doesn't want to have that in common with darin. he's found having that in common with people gives them a deeper level of understanding. he doens't mind it with 622 but... also doesn't feel like he can just lie about it. instead, riptide just doens't offer any further information.]
Twenty five... hhhhundred?
Re: [VIDEO]
Just.
Twenty five.
Re: [VIDEO]
[...]
Thaaaanks for your support! I'll hit you up if I ever lose a limb again, also.
Re: [VIDEO]
What's wrong with twenty five?
Re: [VIDEO]
Re: [VIDEO]
Re: [VIDEO]
[darin can probably do the math.]
Re: [VIDEO]
I thought you were younger.
Wait, does that mean you were around for that huge war you mentioned?
Re: [VIDEO]
[he grunts.]
Yuh-huh.
