Hello everyone, we are making an official announcement that we are currently working to visit Death Island and build a memorial on site for the imPorts who have permanently died there. For those who aren’t familiar with the story, in 2008 a group of teenage imPorts went to the island in order to stop a man who built a Death Ray. I understand the naming is… [ IT’S SOMETHING. ] but the Ray killed seven imPorts permanently. It has been ten years since then, and I think it’s important to remember those who were lost.

--Right, yeah, [riptide leans a little closer to the camera. it’s time to pay attention to him now!!] it’s got a weird name and the history sucks. So, anyway, we already have quite a bit of backing from ambassador Baal, Baelish and senator Hundred. Er-- [he looks down. at his hand, where he’s written this information like a normal person.] --The Airforce, some other native institutions. They sure love their advertising. I’m sure you see where this is going.

The only people left to ask are… [he points dramatically at the camera.] you. Is you? Grammar. You. Give us money for this. Also, yourselves. Please.

[ oh god, no - Kaneki moves in, shoving Riptide away as he tries to salvage this ] He-- isn’t wrong. We need funding to build the memorial, but we also need signatures to show imPorts support this idea. We are also gathering them from natives, who have been very receptive to this idea. [slightly off camera, riptide can be heard mumbling that’s what i said!. Kaneki will ignore him because what else can you do? ]

We want to ask you for your support on this, any kind you can give us. [ he bows gently to the camera ] Thank you so much.

Yeah, thanks-- and if you’re gonna bitch about how this ain’t our problem, I don’t wanna hear it! Put that attitude back in the toilet you fished it out of, idiot! [ and before the feed is cut off you can still hear Kaneki going “Riptide, No-” ]

Oh, I'm inclined to think that, too, considering how many fuckwads out there think we're the bane of existence. Would be nice to confirm it first, though.

[ She skims the notes as she speaks; she remembers most of it, but it's good to remember why: because they still don't know much about it. ]

Maybe a better question is whether or not Lachesis had any hand in that happening. She wanted to find a good world to put imPorts in, right? Maybe she thought a clean slate would be good for her?

It could be. It could also be just a coincidence. But why didn't she bring us even earlier, when there wre heroes already here, why did she wait from 2011 to 2014 to start bringing us in...? I don't think we will get answers for that-

but we may find something that will lead us to those answers we need.

I'm thinking about that too. Could she have thought we'd conflict with the ones who were already here? Or did she not like a set that wasn't hers...?

[ She sighs. ]

But we should probably have answers for the more basic shit before that. You know if we do find the Death Ray, we're going to have to have the same conversations we'd have about the Porter, right? About what to do with it?

[ he sighs ]

I don't know what we can do about it. Are there plans to it, and if there are, can we even trace whenever looked at those plans? If there are no plans and there is just the ray, do we destroy it or maybe use it against Atropos?

Using it on Atropos is an idea.

[ One that's interesting enough that she sounds intrigued- but then she calms herself. She's not murder-happy, compared to some people she knows. ]

Then again, if it's only been used on imPorts like us before, who knows if it can do anything to a deity.

Anyway, no matter what we find, we at least need to be responsible about it. Preferably in advance of any sort of mass chaos it may cause.

We know it disrupts the nanites and whatever they do to us. [ not that they even know exactly, apparently studying nanites is impossible ]

I'm hoping for the team to be small and controlled. And Jacob-san already knows what all of this is about.

Yeah, you'd want him on your side. [ She's not really Jacob's friend- just an ally- but she can tell the man is capable and level-headed. Still rare around here, in her opinion. ]

So is this your way of saying you want me on that team? Because I'm willing to join in. I'm sure there's plenty of things to divine over there, for one.

[ jacob is kaneki's boss, kind of. But he is trustworthy, that much was clear ]

[ Despite her former adherence to law and order, and her continuing lean towards it, she doesn't trust the government here as far as she can throw it. Not when they're literally being tracked. ]

What exactly do I need to know, then?

It depends on how the memorial thing will go. If they allow building a memorial there and allow imPorts to visit, perhaps they'll turn a blind eye over the registration.

But for now, nothing. When we have a yes or no regarding the memorial, we will meet to formulate a plan.

[ She nods. ] That sounds like it'll do. Let's hope we can go- well, can go legally. It's too big of a thing to just ignore.
