Quadruple Rainbow

[Karolina appears on the video in her natural form, emitting a rainbow of colors from head to toe. She looks pensive when she appears on the video, occasionally reaching up to fidget with her hair or tapping her wrist where her bracelet would normally be.] I could ask if you guys think it's worth it, us being here. If what happened on the moon is outweighed by the fact that society has made enough technological advancements to be able to throw parties on the moon. But those kinds of questions don't really have answers, not on any world I can imagine.

But, that's not the last time this kind of thing is gonna happen. And I wanna be more help than I've been. So, um, if anyone knows stuff about, I guess, channeling energy or that kind of thing, and would be willing to give me a lesson, I'd really appreciate it. [She gathers light in her hand and holds it up to the camera, just to give a visual for what she's talking about.] Even if it's nothing like what I do, just having some more to think about would really help.

Or if anybody wants to offer like, an aerial combat tutorial, that'd be great too. We could get a group together for that, or something. I don't know if it'll really come up, but, let's be real, flying's fun.

[She goes to click off the video before pausing and holding up a finger.] Totally randomly, while I'm here, does anybody have any advice for couples just starting to move in together?

Uh - Yeah, aerial combat is definitely something I can help with. What kind of flying are you talking about, here?

For the last question, uh - don't get into petty text message fights.

Worth it to whom? Us? The natives?

[She's silent for a few seconds, considering.] To the natives, is what I keep thinking about, but as far as the scale goes, I mean... is it worth it to the people in this country? To all the people on this planet?

We had the opportunity to get into those before, so hopefully it won't change that.

I do it under my own power, but we should train to fight different things. I guess we should mostly expect drones and planes, right? Or variants on them.

[ It's hard to get into the glowing alien girl parts when you're trying to hide your identity as another glowing alien girl. So, obviously the Psychopomp instead focuses on the subject a spectre of death is least likely to know about. ]

Cohabitation is an important step for any relationship to take. Those first weeks are as a test of the strength of thy bond, a fire in which they are forged. No longer canst thou simply return home when thy wish is for space from them, because they have become thy home, and what comes of the future for the both of ye dependeth on what thy thoughts are of that fact.

There will be new accommodations to make, and accommodations thou shalt seek of them, and this is healthy. Fear not the imposition thou makest in presenting thine own needs, for a relationship that faileth to find compromise for both parties is one that perhaps should not last. In that same way, be willing to compromise thine own position, when such must be done.

Uh - Well, you'd be surprised. The threats we run into here tend to be many and varied. So I'd work on your flying technique rather than focus on any one particular type of enemy combatant, at fight.

When you say your own power - I'm guessing you don't even need a carpet, huh?

I seriously can't wait.

We do a lot of bad things, that much is obvious. But looking at imPorts as a group of the same, isn't correct, because we aren't all the same, all we have in common is that we were taken from our homes by the Porter. [imPorts are far too heterogeneous to be an actual group. And that's why people like the Negotiator happen ]

So I don't think we should be considered "worth it" as a group. That's unfair.

But even if we aren't worth it, there isn't much we can do. That's sadly something the natives often forget. Us being here isn't a matter of choice. [ so it's not like they can say "these guys aren't worth it, let's send them back". ]

[ Yeah he doesn't really have much to say in regards to new powers, tech on the moon, and stuff like that. But moving in? He gets that, considering he's going through the same growing pain. ]

Communication is key when it comes to you and your partner. Stuff from who's making dinner, running out of hot water, who's turn it is to take out the trash, etc.

You're going to fight. It happens to everyone. Especially when going through new schedules and adjusting to living with another person.
Don't go to bed mad at them. Always say you love them, especially since you don't know if you're going to wake up next to them in the morning thanks to the porter.

And if you do screw up- royally screw up- admit it. Talk and listen to what you can do better.
Surprising them with their favorite flowers is also a good segway into an apology. Just so you know.

I wasn't... I don't blame anybody but Negotiator for what happened there. And even besides that, there's nothing to advocate for. It's more like... I mean, we might as well be talking about whether the Industrial Revolution was worth it. The bad is out there, the good is out there, it's what the world is now. You can't un-open Pandora's Box.

Well, what I'm saying it, we had the chance and we didn't, basically, so...

[She shuts her eyes and the glow fades.] No carpet. But I can work on my technique, definitely.

And the glowing is kind of, I mean, I can stop it if I need to, but it's me. My default.

Technically, even with the porter one of us will still wake up next to the other one. But I see your point. We'll do our best to remember all that stuff.

You don't blame others, but the natives blame us as a whole. [ he is pretty sure of it ]

We can do a lot. We have built a space station on the moon, we have reached Mars. I think imPorts are capable of much. But there is a lot attached to that "much"; politically, socially, and even towards us imPorts.

[ what he means is: ] We could bring forth great development, but we are temporary aliens here. And we won't be here next year to see the consequences of our actions, if they are good or bad. The natives will be, though.

That never ends the potential for petty text messages, trust me. Especially when you're spending all your time together.

Well, I can probably help in general anyway. If the basics are generally the same. You have to do anything particular physical to fly, or is it a mental thing?

Kind of implies you aren't from around here, though. Unless your version of Earth has glowing people as a standard.

So you're giving my girlfriend advice on a life with me. After you acted like a sanctimonious asshole because, I don't know, I fucking dared to be focused on a life with her.

[ That's actually a really tricky question. Like sure, Kanaya has experience, but everything about the history she made up for Psychopomp would kind of preclude it. I guess she'll just have to hope no one starts comparing notes. ]

I don't think it's all that different, on a philosophical level, from back home. We do the best we can come up with, but we won't know what impact it'll have, whether we stick around for one year or a thousand.

The difference is that this is not our world, we are not from here. And that does weight into things, doesn't it?
