[ Baskets. So many baskets. Some are wrapped in cellophane, topped with simple ribbons, and others were left open, half filled. Toys, blankets, towels, socks, small bags of toiletries, necessities— it was all there and ready to be handed out. Included among it all was food, handled baskets of non-perishables.

The camera spans around and Leia appears to address the network, smiling. ]

Good evening. As of today there are roughly two and a half weeks until Christmas. As you can see— [ She turns the camera to face the many baskets that take up most of her living room, every surface. What hasn't been sorted yet into a bundle of goods, stacks sit, plastic bags bulging, there's stuffed animals, cardboard boxes of food, cans, more clothes for adults and children. ] —I'm not even halfway through sorting it all out. The plan is to hand everything out to the families in need. To the orphanages. To ensure that the less fortunate have a chance to enjoy Christmas and to enjoy a traditional Christmas dinner.

[ What wasn't pictured: the chest freezer containing hams and turkeys. ]

Is there anyone who would be interested in assisting me with finishing the rest of these baskets? I'm also looking for extra hands to help with the deliveries, this request includes drivers. And if anyone wishes to add to the gifts by donating anything they can, that would be greatly appreciated as well.

[ Akobi thinks this is a good idea, but he's not about to show his face to Leia after their last conversation. He's done his research, however, and knows she works at the Princess Palace. So, the next day, a delivery man will drop off a box full of toiletries-- toothpaste, shampoo, feminine hygiene products. The only note reads: "For your baskets." ]

[ Well. This is...a surprise. And it's a wonderful addition. Now if only she knew who was behind it. Too many know that she works at the Princess Palace. ]

It should be easy. I believe the Porter is nearby. I can even meet you, if it helps, or I can give you directions.

[ Leia chuckles and gestures to the large suite she’s in that’s, as of now, overwhelmed by baskets and more baskets. ]

It’s not exactly a house, it’s more like a series of suites all placed together. The friend who invited me to stay here, he helped name it.

I believe that depends. There's government housing and there's individual housing.

Is there a big difference between the individual and government housing? I haven't seen it yet.

Individual housing you live on your own. You choose who lives with you. Government housing, you find yourself with strangers for roommates.

Huh... I guess it's generous of them to provide that option.

[ Circe can't say she understands Christmas very well, but she certainly has no objections to what seems to be a kindness-themed holiday. It still rings strangely to her, so used to churlishness and condescension from nearly everyone around her, and isolation in long stretches her only break in between. ]

I would be able to assist. This is an extraordinarily kind thing to do.

And thank you, any help I can get would be greatly appreciated. Is there anything in particular you'd like to do? Wrapping? Putting baskets together?

I have experience in neither, so whatever you think I should do is fine with me. [ Circe offers her own, more self-deprecating, smile. ]

May I ask, how did you come to organize this?

[articulations]

Sounds good.

I did this sort of thing back in my world. I helped organize many relief missions where I would bring food and other provisions to those in great need. We would travel planet to planet.

[pharmaka]

[ There's a moment's pause while Circe has to look up that she's understanding the word 'planet' correctly in translation.

Well then. ]

That is a great distance to travel for so altruistic a mission. Or is it a more commonplace journey for you?

[articulations]

Each journey has its different distances. It helps to be able to travel through hyperspace, it shortens the time it would take from Point A to Point B.

[pharmaka]

Hyperspace... I don't follow.

[articulations]

It's a way to travel through space to get to where you need to but quicker.

[She gives a little smile.]

It's very nice of you to do this. Everyone should get a good Christmas, especially kids who don't have much.

That would be wonderful. Maybe we can save the treats to the day of delivery so they don't go to waste. I'm sure some of the kids will really enjoy them.
