[It's been a rough week but when the video switches on he's composed, sitting on the couch at home. A mug can be seen off to the side- strong coffee has been what has been getting him through everything. To anyone looking closely, there are dark smudges under his eyes and his posture isn't as stiff as usual.
He cleared his throat before speaking, shifting on the couch.] I'm sure some of you have been assigned ridiculous jobs upon your arrival so I am offering an alternative. I've taken on a few more clients so I need someone to help in the office and with clients.
It's a full-time position, full benefits. No need to make balloon animals or write ridiculous poetry or something else equally inane- the job only entails scheduling meetings, paperwork, and helping the office operate smoothly. Feel free to contact me privately for an interview.
[There is a pause as he gathers his thoughts, taking a drink from the mug. He's pretty much running on caffeine at this point and it's not just coffee in that mug.]
On an unrelated note, I've found myself with some unexpected free time and in my year and a half on this primitive planet, I feel like I haven't had a chance to learn a great deal about this world so I am looking for recommendations- places to see, things to read. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Well, it's an idea worth looking into, anyway. ]
Have you read anything by Alexandre Dumas? He wrote during the mid-1800s and his works have always been extremely popular.
[ Thank goodness the internet existed on this world so she could confirm that was still the case in this place. ]
Also, I'd be interested in learning more about the position and possibly putting my name forward for consideration.

[He's not going to apologize for his remarks though. He still finds life on Earth extremely frustrating even after almost two years. Too confining.]
Of course. Perhaps we could schedule an interview for Friday or early next week- I'm looking for someone as soon as possible.
video;
[ Until recently, anyway. She doesn't take the least bit offense at his comments about the planet, lord knows what his life had been like before landing here. ]
I've just arrived, so my schedule's wide open. I'm happy to meet you wherever and whenever.
video;
Let's say tomorrow at 2 p.m. then. I'll attach the address and directions to this text.
video;
Thank you, I'm looking forward to it. [ She is, too, in fact. She's always enjoyed meeting new people, so long as they weren't out to kill or imprison her. ]

[ That last part was a bit more worrying. ]
...something about you having free time is the most concerning thing I've heard this year.
[ This includes back home; Hux is totally worse than the Death Star. ]
[Video]
Are you truly that concerned about what I may do with it, Skywalker?
[He scoffed with amusement, shaking his head.]
Don't worry, I would always find time for you.
[Video]
[ Thank the stars there weren't any super weapons laying around. That they knew of, anyway. ]
I'm certain I could find time for you as well, if need be.
[Video]
[Look at him pretending to be nice!]
I think you have a bit of an overactive imagination. Perhaps you need something to occupy your time and make the most of it while you can.

[There is no such thing as having hobbies in the First Order.]
Aside from that, I honestly wouldn't be able to tell you what kind of literature I prefer at this point.

kaneki has Feelings about booksBut anyway, since random book suggestions is what this person is looking for, then: ]
I suppose I can suggest Paprika by Yasutaka Tsutsui.

Have you read it yourself? [He's willing to give anything a try. Recently he's realized that outside of his life's work he never really forged an identity aside from his duty.]

Also do you have an age requirement?
text;
I am looking for someone who is an adult since the position will require working with clients and handling their confidential information.

[ Bean thinks he's more than qualified for such a job, though he's never worked in the corporate sector before, but he knows that it wouldn't look good to have your personal assistant be a child. ]
Per your other request, whenever I'm bored I try picking up a book in another language and seeing how much I can teach myself. C'est très interessant.

[Roland isn't actively looking to change careers, but he isn't necessarily looking to stay as a public speaker forever either.]
And as for books... what are your tastes?
video;
As for literature...I've never actually read here any aside from basic history books of this planet. Leisure reading wasn't something that I was able to do back in my home galaxy.

[He can read the ID, but he's old-fashioned.]
Never? Well... [There's a pause as he really considers this.] In that case, my recommendations are Fahrenheit 451, The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, Murder on the Orient Express or And Then There Were None, Pride and Prejudice, Rosemary's Baby, and The Color Purple. They cover several genres so you might find something you like.

[So polite! Definitely a point in Roland's favor.
The mention of 'murder' in one of the books gets his attention and that is going to the top of his list. No reason.]
Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy? I thought the natives on this planet have only ventured to the nearest moon.
