You know at some point the road stops, and where it ends, it's a sharp drop into a canyon, so if you go over it, it'll probably kill you, but you don't know how far the end is away from you for certain. But, say, you've gone ten miles on this road, and back, and you haven't had any problems. Why not set your limit there, at ten? Or at nine, where you know you have room to push? It might not be the most you can do, in a specific moment, but it means you can do more over months, and years — doesn't it?
With a power like yours, even doing that much is still doing good. You're not a piece of cloth to be rung dry.
